RM.id Rakyat   Merdeka – The Indonesian Ahmadiyya Congregation ( JAI ) commemorated Indonesian Environment Day by simultaneously planting 10,500 trees in 50 regions across Indonesia. The activity was centered in Ciseeng, Bogor , West Java, on Saturday (January 10, 2026).

This environmental action is the result of a collaboration between the Indonesian Islamic Defenders Front (JAI) and the Ministry of Environment and Forestry. The event was opened by the National Leader of JAI, Zaki Firdaus Syahid.

“Our target is, hopefully, to plant 100,000 trees throughout Indonesia by the end of June 2026,” said Zaki.

He revealed that JAI has successfully planted around 37,000 trees to date. This number increases with the 10,500 trees planted simultaneously to commemorate World Environment Day this year.

According to Zaki, the limited availability of seedlings from the government is one of the obstacles to implementing the program. Nevertheless, his team is still striving to maximize its contribution by planting thousands of trees in various regions.

“We have national, regional, and branch management across 34 provinces, with 54 regional administrators. Planting is carried out simultaneously according to the environmental conditions of each region,” he explained.

Zaki emphasized that this activity was part of the Ahmadiyah leadership’s instructions for each member to plant at least two trees every year.

In addition, this step also supports the government’s program of planting one million trees to commemorate National Environment Day.

This action, he said, is in line with the Ministry of Forestry’s program which encourages every Indonesian citizen to plant five trees throughout their lifetime as a form of concern for environmental sustainability.

“We hope that the earth will become green and beautiful again, and that the culture of planting trees will continue to be popularized, not only among Ahmadiyah members, but also among the surrounding community,” he concluded.
