LOMBOK – For 20 years, Ahmadiyah residents in Praya, Central Lombok admit that they have never received social assistance (Bansos) from the government. Both central, provincial and even regional governments.

“From the time of President SBY until now Jokowi there has never been any assistance,” said an Ahmadiyah resident, Wahyu Hidayat to journalist Koranlombok.id , Sunday (11/2/2024)

Wahyu, who was met at the refugee complex behind the Central Lombok Health Service Office, said that so far officers have been out collecting data frequently. Surprisingly, help was never provided.

“Yes, we don’t know why the aid didn’t come, we just assumed it wasn’t our fortune,” he said with a smile.

He said that in particular the department never came down to say hello to the refugee camps. The only officers who often visited him were the police.

“There was never any, only the police came to register us here,” he said.

He added that currently the number of Ahmadiyah residents living in the complex is decreasing. Initially there were dozens of heads of families (KK) but now there are only five families left. The residents currently living in this place come from East Praya District, Praya and there are also victims of eviction from East Lombok.

“This is our condition here, thank God we are in good health,” he said.

Wahyu recently said that there were residents who lived in this place who were able to return home because their homes had not been damaged.

“We are afraid here to build a house if it ends up being damaged again,” he said.

During the interview, Wahyu admitted that the residents living in this complex wanted to be free like society in general. He conveyed his only demands to the government.

“Previously, we reached out to the regional government through Kesbagpoldagri, but they didn’t respond,” he said.

Meanwhile, Central Lombok Ahmadiyah Chairman Lalu Muhammad Saihu confirmed the worrying conditions of residents in the refugee complex. He emphasized that his party had raised this issue with the government several times but it had never been ignored.

“The answer is yes, at that time I conveyed it to the Regent Suhaili and to the Social Service. Yes, until now there has been no assistance whatsoever,” he said when contacted by journalists from Koranlombok.id.i

He hopes that residents there will get help in the form of trying. Because according to him the poor must be looked after by the State.

“When it comes to housing, it’s also very inadequate,” he explained.

So far, Saihu said, several times residents have received personal assistance sent from Jakarta and Sulawesi. The residents received rice, basic necessities and other assistance.

“Actually, we often convey the problems of our residents to the government, but that’s all they say yes. “We hope the government can pay attention to our brothers,” he concluded. (dik)
