Mubindah.id – Indonesia is the country with the fourth largest population in the world, namely around 277.7 million people. With the condition of Indonesia’s large population, our nation is very vulnerable to various kinds of violations, one of which is violations of Human Rights (HAM).
Reporting from the Fahmina.or.id page, in 2010, the Manislor Kuningan Ahmadiyah Congregation became one of the victims of human rights violations. The Ahmadiyah congregation experienced attacks, vandalism, confiscation of their religious rights and the closure of mosques by hundreds of people from joint Islamic organizations.
I think this attack and all the acts of violence that the Ahmadiyah Community experienced cannot be separated from the Fatwa of the Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI) which prohibits the practice of Ahmadiyah teachings and considers them heretical.
However, all forms of violations and fatwas were strongly condemned by KH. Abdurrahman Wahid (Gus Dur). Gus Dur dared to stand up to defend and protect the Ahmadiyah Community from all acts of violence, all of which clearly violated human rights.
In fact, as in the article “Gus Dur is Ready to Become an Expert Witness to Defend Ahmadiyah” on the NU Online page, Gus Dur invites anyone to campaign or think that Ahmadiyah is wrong, but to disband Ahmadiyah would violate the 1945 constitution.
