Liputan6.com, Manado – A family atmosphere was seen when the Ahmadiyya Congregation in Manado held an iftar together on Sunday (26/3/2023). There are various menus there, ranging from dates to Manado’s typical Balapis cakes .
A modest building is located in Taas Village, Tikala District, Manado City, North Sulawesi . It has been around 25 years that this building has been used as the Mission House of the Ahmadiyya Congregation in Manado. There is a concrete staircase connecting the mission house with the Baitul Islam Mosque.

Since the afternoon, tens of congregations have packed the mission house. The women gather inside the house, while the men are on the left side of the house which is a room that is used as a Peace Center .
“We gathered to break our fast together. This is a congregation from Manado, also from Sea, Minahasa Regency,” said the Missionary of the Ahmadiyya Congregation in Manado, Hafiz Ahmad Mutu when welcoming Liputan6.com to the mission house.
The leaders of the Manado Ahmadiyya Congregation engaged in casual conversation while waiting for the time to break the fast. On the table, various light dishes are available. There are dates, and various types of typical Manado cakes, ranging from pancakes, panada, nogosari to Balapis.
The clock showed 17.50 WITA, when Hafiz asked the Missionary of Jemaah Ahmadiyah Sea Sofa Adnan to lead the prayer. After praying, Hafiz invited the guests and congregation to taste the various types of cakes and drinks available.
“Please enjoy. I brought the guava seeds when I moved here 2 years ago, I planted them. Now it is bearing fruit,” said Hafiz.
The atmosphere of iftar with a close family feel can be felt. Dozens of congregation mingled, interspersed with jokes, enjoying various light dishes.
“This is a blend of Arabic and Manadonese. Dates are from Arabic, while other menus are typical of Manado,” said one congregation.
A few moments later, Hafiz and the congregation asked for permission to pray at the Baitul Islam Mosque which was right above the mission house.
