The UK Armed Forces defend the country and its interests. Every day of the year, they are busy working around the world, promoting peace, delivering aid, tackling drug smugglers, providing security, and fighting terrorism. Their selfless devotion and great sacrifices guarantee our sovereignty and peace.
Islam (literally means absolute peace) does not approve pacifism rather commands for keeping the strongest armed forces for establishing, maintaining and preserving peace. It says strong defense forces are indispensable for a nation, both in times of peace and war.
As a religious community our motivation to participate and contribute, in our humble way, in this national celebration, springs from the teachings of Islam and the practice of our holy master Muhammad peace be upon him. He told us, “He who does not thank people, does not thank God.” Being members of true practicing Muslim community, we owe our thanks to our Armed Forces and celebrate Armed Forces Day as a Thanksgiving Day.
Every individual and community celebrate such a day in their own way. Some celebrate it by organizing parades and marches or stage performances. Ahmadiyya Muslim Community staunchly believes in the force of prayers. Hence, on this blessed day we offer to our Armed Forces this much-valued morale booster.
