Tangerang Guidelines – The National Amir of the Indonesian Ahmadiyya Congregation ( JAI ) , Maulana Haji Abdul Basit Syahid, reportedly died at Sentosa Hospital, Bogor on Saturday, October 8, 2022.
The leader of a congregation that is often marginalized is said to be still actively spreading the message of Islam and peace before his death .
The news of the death of Maulana Abdul Basit was also conveyed directly by the General Secretary of PB JAI , Dudung Abdul Latif in his press conference.
“To all members of the Jama’at ( Ahmadiyya ) we convey the sad news, our beloved National Amir has left us all,” he said in a message sent to Ahmadiyah members .
Previously, Maulana Abdul Basit was hospitalized some time ago.
“He died around 15:10 WIB at the hospital (hospital). Innalillahi wa innailaihi raojiuun,” added Dudung.
The sad news was also conveyed by the Nahdlatul Ulama Young Scholar as well as the Indonesian Ambassador to Tunisia, Zuhairi Misrawi or Gus Mis.
“My best wishes and prayers for the death of the Amir of the Indonesian Ahmadiyya Congregation : a pious, humble and charismatic figure. Lahul fatihah,” quoted from Zuhairi Misrawi’s Facebook account.
The body of Maulana Abdul Basit was previously taken to his residence in the Mubarak Campus complex and the corneal excision process was immediately carried out.
Furthermore, Abdul Basit’s body was prayed and buried today, Sunday, October 9, 2022 at 11.00 WIB.
It is known that the Jamaah Ahmadiyah Indonesia ( JAI ), which is grieving, is an Islamic sect that has received a lot of polemics.
Despite experiencing friction, under the direction of Abdul Basit, the Ahmadiyya tried to emphasize the dialogue process and the voice of peace in alleviating tensions and misunderstandings against their Jamaat.
The body of Amir JAI is now buried in Maqbarah Musian, Kemang, Bogor accompanied by prayers from the congregation for the deceased.***
