TRIBUNJATENG.COM, SEMARANG – Semarang Ahmadiyah Congregation Yuni Kurniawan invited his two children Ahmad (7) and Abi (12) to join in celebrating Christmas .
They came with interfaith people at Pondok Harapan, St Theresia Bongsari Catholic Church complex, West Semarang, Semarang City, Saturday (12/25/2021).
There, they met the elderly sisters.
Not only that, Abi and Ahmad also met other religious people such as Hindus and Buddhists.
“Yes, I deliberately took the two children so that they could recognize diversity from an early age,” said Yuni to Tribunjateng.com.
According to him, his two children need to be given an understanding of diversity and tolerance from a young age in order to understand the importance of tolerance in the midst of the diverse Indonesian nation.
“They have participated in similar activities twice. They have begun to know that even though they are
Muslims, they are brothers with people of other religions,” he said.
He said that during the activity, he was touched because he saw the sisters, even though they were old, but still enthusiastic about establishing brotherhood.

He considers that the people of Semarang City have upheld the values of tolerance and diversity.
