Jakarta, CNN Indonesia —

Gusdurian Network Coordinator Alissa Wahid asked President Joko Widodo to revoke Joint Decree (SKB) 3 Ministers Number 3 of 2008 on the advice not to spread Ahmadiyya teachings.

Alissa’s statement was in response to the decision of Garut Regent Rudy Gunawan who stopped the construction of the Ahmadiyah Indonesian congregation mosque (JAI) in Kampung Nyalindung Village, Ngamplang Village, Garut Regency, West Java.

Alissa considers SKB 3 Ministers about Ahmadis vulnerable to abuse for unconstitutional acts against Ahmadis in Indonesia.

“Asked President Joko Widodo to revoke SKB 3 Minister No. 3 of 2008 … who are prone to be abused to commit unconstitutional acts against Ahmadis,” Alissa said in a written statement, Saturday (8/5).

In addition to revoking SKB 3 Minister of Ahmadiyah teachings, the daughter of the fourth president of Indonesia Abdurrahman Wahid also urged Jokowi to revoke SKB 2 Minister No. 9 and No. 8 of 2006 on the establishment of houses of worship because it is considered to have caused many houses of worship to be forced to close.

According to Alissa, the case of the termination of the construction of ahmadiyah congregational mosque by the Regent of Garut is a heartbreaking event. Because it happened in Ramadan when people solemnly perform worship.

  1. There is a big difference between Pakistan and Indonesia in its treatment of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community. In both countries there are extremist Mullah elements who want to harm the Ahmadiyya Muslim Jamaat, however, in Indonesia there are also some politicians and other personalities who have the courage to speak up against this persecution. One mosque construction has been halted but in other parts some mosques have opened too. May Allah protect all Ahmadis all over the world.
