Can Jesus be God even if he is not mentioned in the Old Testament?

Vatican city a symbol for Catholicism and Trinity

I just saw a three part, three hour PBS documentary about the Jewish people. The first part is Kingdom of David : saga of the Israelites, By the river of Babylon. It is described as, in 586 B.C., the Babylonians lead almost all that remains of the tribe of Judah, the Israelites, to exile in Babylon. Only a few generations earlier, the northern tribes of the Israelites were taken into exile and vanished forever. Now the Judeans, too, seem destined to disappear. They fight back, however, by writing a book. Using Judean stories from the past to explain present disastrous situations, the book becomes the earliest edition of the most influential work in history: the Bible. This episode introduces the early and profoundly influential figures of Judaism: Abraham, who is the first to recognize the concept of one God; Moses, who receives the Ten Commandments from God. You can watch the documentary online in PBS.

Three hours of discussion about Monotheism and gods and not a single mention of Jesus’ divinity.  Can Jesus be God if he is not mentioned in the Old Testament, which forms 75% by volume of the Christian Bible?  I know that some Christian apologists can come up with some indirect reference to Jesus of Nazareth in the Old Testament.  But, if he were God reference to him cannot be hidden and obtuse. It has to be front and center.

Since the time of Patriarch Abraham for two thousand years Jews are practicing Monotheism and trying hard to have a relationship with God, but did not know anything at all about Jesus of Nazareth.  Most even did not know about the town of Nazareth.

With Judaism before and Islam afterwards making no mention of Jesus’ divinity, can he still be God? Not to speak of all the Unitarian Christians.

Today in addition to the three hour documentary mentioned already I want to present two other videos below to gather all the Abrahamic faiths to a more pure Monotheism:

Video: The most famous Christian apologist, William Lane Craig, accepts there is no Trinity in the Old Testament

Video: How Jesus Became God, by Prof. Bart Ehrman?

  1. YHVH is YESHUA! Isa 43:11  I, I am the LORD, and besides me there is no savior. ישׁע
    yâsha=YESHUA

    • ALHAMDOLILLAH – All praise is due to Allah. Allah forgives us directly. We do not need an additional savior.

  2. Only One God is mentioned in the Torah. One which has no sons or daughters. This is why Jews are monotheistic just as Muslims are. Christians on the other hand created a son of God. In the New Testament there is not a single place where Jesus makes claims to be Divine. He refers to himself repeatedly as “Son of Man”. Divinity of Jesus was an invention of Paul who had never met Jesus, never heard from him, never lived with him and never learned from him. He inserted himself into Christianity and declared himself to be a disciple of Jesus. The actual disciples of Jesus rejected him and expelled him from their ranks. So he left Palestine without having any support in the true followers of Jesus.
    Jesus having survived crucifixion, migrated towards East to deliver the message to those ten Jewish tribes who had left Palestine.
