Epigraph:
We (Allah) prescribed for the children of Israel that whosoever killed a person — unless it be for killing a person or for creating disorder in the land — it shall be as if he had killed all mankind; and whoso gave life to one, it shall be as if he had given life to all mankind. (Al Quran 5:32/33)
What to Know About Thousand Oaks Shooting Suspect Ian David Long
Source: Time
The gunman who killed 12 at a crowded bar in Thousand Oaks, Calif., was a Marine veteran who may have suffered from post-traumatic stress disorder, Ventura County Sheriff Geoff Dean said.
Authorities identified the suspected gunman as Ian David Long, 28, on Thursday.
At least 12 people, including a sheriff’s deputy, were killed in the shooting, while one was wounded, after Long threw smoke bombs and shot a bouncer, a cashier and patrons inside Borderline Bar and Grill around 11:20 p.m. local time, according to witnesses. Between eight and 15 others were injured trying to flee the shooting. Long was found dead inside the bar in an office adjacent to the entry.
“We believe he shot himself,” Dean said.
What weapon did Ian David Long use in the shooting?
Law enforcement officials said Long used a Glock 21 .45-caliber handgun in the shooting at the bar, where a number of students were gathered for a “college country night” event. Dean said the handgun is designed to hold 10 rounds and that it had an extended magazine, though it was unclear how many extra rounds it held. He said Long had legally purchased the weapon.

Our hearts go out to the victims and their families.
We hold each and every human life sacred regardless of religion, creed, race or nationality and killing of one like triggering a genocide; with that universal and humanitarian perspective, I have shared the above information with the readers.
I wonder what went on in the mind of this ‘veteran’ killer. Did he remember the killings ‘over there’ ? WHY ? difficult for the rest of us to understand.
