ecently it was announced that the first mosque is about to be built on the Western Isles – a bastion of conservative evangelical Calvinism, dominated by the Free Church of Scotland (colloquially and somewhat pejoratively known as ‘the Wee Frees’). The press sniffed blood – surely this would outrage the Free Church and create civil war? The old headlines ‘Wee Free Outrage’ were dusted down and in some cases used by the tabloids, broadsheets and broadcast media. And with some justification, because a small breakaway group from the Free Church known as the Free Church Continuing had issued a press statement condemning the proposal.
Perhaps it is expecting too much to expect the secular press to keep up with the various smaller Christian denominations. But The Guardian, demonstrating a degree of journalistic integrity, actually did some investigation and produced a more balanced report that included the news that the Free Church supported the right of the Muslims on the island to build their own mosque. Rev James MacIver, minister of the largest church in Stornoway, the main town of the island, is quoted as saying: ‘Muslims have always been regarded by the local community as people who’ve contributed to the local economy and integrated well. I don’t remember any animosity towards them. Outsiders may have got the impression that the Christian community here have resisted the mosque, but that’s not the case…I have no right to come between someone’s conscience and their god…I come at this from the point of view of liberty of conscience, freedom of religion. I don’t personally see Islam as the way to salvation, but they have a civil right to a place of worship. I have no right to come between someone’s conscience and their god.’

But why you forget the days of Christianity have been counted. In 1889 it was prophesied by the awaited promised Messiah that with in next 300 years majority will embrace real teachings of Islam Christianity flourished in its time and surprisingly retained its dominance above 2 thousands years. It will retain its presence as other ancient religions do but is going to lose its majority in next 100 to 150 years. These are the words of God spoken by the Promised Messiah or founder of Ahmadiyya Islam. Currently you and others might laugh on this claim but this what the scheme of God is. So let the things to move on. Destiny planned by Nature has to come in to effect.

My comment. Liberty of conscience and freedom of religion is the core of God’s law ( Bible and Al Quran ).
Freedom of religion, Speech and expression.
Deuteronomy 30; 1,15.Today I am giving you a choice between good and evil, or between a blessing and a curse, between live and death. .You were born with the freedom of choice.
This Golden wisdom is found also in Islam or Holy Al Quran.
And say, “The truth is from your Lord. Now, whoever so wills may believe and whoever so wills may deny.” QS 18;29.
And had your Lord willed, those on earth would have believed, all of them together. So, will you (O Muhammad SAW) then compel mankind, until they become believers. QS 10;99.
QS 90:10.And showed him the two ways? One is God’s way, and second is Evil’s way. People free to choose his religion.
QS 2:256.There is no compulsion in Faith. The correct way has become distinct from the erroneous. Now, whoever rejects the Taghut (the Rebel, the
Satan) and believes in Allah has a firm grasp on the strongest ring that never breaks. Allah is All-Hearing, All-Knowing.
QS 22;77 He has chosen you and did not impose any hardship on you in the religion

Freedom of Speech.
QS 25:63. The (faithful) slaves of the Beneficent are they who walk upon the earth modestly, and when the foolish ones address them answer: Peace;
Allâh does not like that the evil word should be uttered in public except by him who has been wronged. And Allâh is Ever All¬Hearer, All¬Knower.Q. 4:(148)There are 2 verses in Al Quran that indicate the freedom of speech. That make Islam is beautiful, peace and mercy.
Those who make a division in Islam.
Surely, those who have made divisions in their religion and turned into factions, you have nothing to do with them. Their case rests with Allah alone; then He will tell them what they have been doing. QS 6:159.
Unfortunately, extremist Jews, Christian and Muslim ignore these massages of Allah, they follow Evil to create conflict and violence in peaceful society. There no freedom of speech, expression in Saudi Arabia, Iran, Aceh, and other Islamic states. They follow Evil. They follow some of Allah’s laws and ignore the rest of them. They are actually hypocrisy and dangerous for humanity. Allah will disgrace in present life and on the Day of Judgement, they shall be be turned to the most severe punishment. QS 2;85.
These are messages that we have to teach our children and next generation.
