The celebration of Christmas this year is marred by the untimely decision of US President Donald Trump to recognise Jerusalem as the capital of Israel, a city holy to Christians and Muslims alike for centuries.
Jerusalem is holy to all the monotheistic religions and it deserves better from the US president than triggering a standoff with the international community practically on the eve of the seasons’s holidays.
Trump’s illegal move is not the kind of Christmas gift that the holy city and its people, be they Christians or Muslims or Jews, were expecting from Washington during this year’s holidays.
Still, the Palestinian Christians are undeterred by Trump’s abrasive decision and are going ahead with their traditional celebrations on Christmas day as usual.
The Christmas tree is beautifully lit in the courtyard of the Church of Nativity in Bethlehem where Jesus Christ was born. Palestinian Christians in Jerusalem are no less joyous on this occasion even though they have all the reasons to be angry and sad.
Christmas is after all the time when the teachings of Jesus should be remembered and practised. It is also a reminder to all faithful to adhere to the teachings of Jesus.
Here in Jordan, the Christian community is, nonetheless, determined to celebrate and enjoy Christmas and maintain all the religious and social traditions related to it either by going to Church or having Christmas trees in or around their homes and to get together with family members to enjoy the holidays.
It is also an occasion for all Christians worldwide to come to the rescue of Jerusalem and its holy places from the designs of Israel and to jointly protest President Trump’s decision to recognise the holy city of Jerusalem as the capital of Israel and call for its rescission and repudiation.
The commemoration of Christmas would not be complete without redressing the wrong that was committed against it by the US president. The Christian world must therefore seize upon this opportunity to voice its concern and rejection of Trump’s decision in whatever way it sees fit. Otherwise Washington may misinterpret the silence of the Christian world by going ahead with its plans to Judaise the holy city.

Israel is a Jewish state on the map, accept it or deny it.
Jerusalem is the capital of Israel, accept it or deny it.
A Jewish state means an Apartheid state. It is not acceptable in this day and age. (Many Secular Israelis see it that way also, but of course not the extremist ones).
It is very simple logic. You are adamant to destroy The State of Isreal.The State of Israel is adamant to defend herself and destroy anybody who tries to destroy them. The State of Israel has Godly right and worldly right to defend herself. Israel is in a constant state of war for her survival.
Probably you know, The State of Israel is the only state in the middle east where Ahmadis can live peacefully.Israel is the only state in the middle east where basic human rights of Ahmadis are fully protected.
Love for all hatred for none.
Right. And the persuance of equal justice for all requires us to critisize Israel when they do not follow the equal justice, even though, yes, they grant freedom and justice for the Ahmadis in Israel.
It is not only for Ahmadis. About 20% non-Lews in Isreal enjoy these rights.
Being an Ahmadi you must thank God that there is a place in the middle east where Ahmadis can live like human beings. In Palestine, Ahmadis are considered infidels to be killed.
Yes but in the occupied territories the Palestinians (both Christians and Muslims) are treated as totally second class residents.
20% non-Jews
In my opinion Israel should never have been created. The area was more or less colonised by white European Jews, who made it into a satelite of Europe and now more the USA. Their overall plan was to rid Israel of all Palestinians, to make it into a Jewish state and also expand, and they are working on it. Not much territory is now left for the Muslim and Christian population. So a two-state solution does not even seem possible. And most of the Western world, especially America, supports the Jewish cause.
On the other hand, I would have fears of a theocratric Islamic State of Palestine, which would present problems for Muslims and non-Muslims alike, probably worse than those of Israel.
So far as Jerusalem is concerned, I would like to see that area as an independent state, where all would be free to visit and worship.

Israel is a reality even if people deny it.Specially Ahmadis should not disagree with Quran.
Quran explicitly refers to the return of the Jews to the Land of Israel”.
We said after Pharaoh to the Children of Israel, “Dwell in the land, and when there comes the promise of the Hereafter, We will bring you forth together.”Verse (17:104)
“Verse 5–20-21:(5:20) Remember when Moses said to his people:—- “O my people, enter the Holy Land which Allah has assigned to you and do not turn back [from fighting in Allah’s cause] and [thus] become losers.”
Israel is created because God said so in Quran.
there remains therefore the hope that the Israelis will find out what is equality and justice. And we should remind them of it. An Israeli Apartheid State will not have Allah’s blessings.
