A Sharia court in Indonesia’s Aceh province has sentenced two men to be caned in public for having gay sex.
The men were found guilty of violating strict Islamic laws in conservative Aceh and will receive 85 lashes each.
The pair, aged 20 and 23, were found in bed together by vigilantes in March. They have not been identified.
Gay sex is not illegal in the rest of Muslim-majority Indonesia and this is its first such conviction. Aceh is the only province where Sharia is in force.

The Roots of violence, backward in Islam today are because the Extremist Muslims believe in the ancient Islamic laws or shariah, believe in ancient scholars such as Muslim-Bukhari who wrote the book of Hadith beside the Holy Quran. Muslim-Bukhari, to them, are regarded as if an idol without hesitation at all. So whatever Muslim-Bukhari wrote in His book are come from Prophet and Allah.
This Book of Hadith Sahih / authentic Muslim-Bukhari gives a license to Extremist Muslims, fanatics, mullahs and terrorists to take the law into their own hands and issue edicts as to what is blasphemy or apostasy and what is not and innocent people are killed because of this.
Whereas Allah and prophet Muhammad (saw) have warned in Al Quran;
Do not place your faith or trust on Idols, Mullah, Imam. Clerics etc they can deceive you, he is human being as we see at present in Afghanistan, Iraq, Syria etc.
Do not follow idols / men / scholars.
ٱتَّبِعُواْ مَآ أُنزِلَ إِلَيۡكُم مِّن رَّبِّكُمۡ وَلَا تَتَّبِعُواْ مِن دُونِهِۦۤ أَوۡلِيَآءَۗ قَلِيلاً۬ مَّا تَذَكَّرُونَ (٣)
وَكَم مِّن قَرۡيَةٍ أَهۡلَكۡنَـٰهَا فَجَآءَهَا بَأۡسُنَا بَيَـٰتًا أَوۡ هُمۡ قَآٮِٕلُونَ (٤)
O humankind, follow what has been sent down to you from your Lord, and do not follow any masters, Scholars (as idols) other than His laws. Little you heed to advice! (3) How many a town We have destroyed! Our punishment came upon them at night or when they were having a nap at middayQ 7:3-4.
