Abraham Lincoln (February 12, 1809 – April 15, 1865) was the 16th President of the United States, serving from March 1861 until his assassination in April 1865. Lincoln led the United States through its Civil War—its bloodiest war and its greatest moral, constitutional, and political crisis.[1][2] In doing so, he preserved the Union, abolished slavery, strengthened the federal government, and modernized the economy.
One quality is immediately obvious that both Lincoln and the Holy Prophet Muhammad were both liberators of slaves and there are many other commonalities between them, but, today I want to stress their emphasis on human conscience for noble and compassionate living.
President Abraham Lincoln said:
When I do good, I feel good. When I do bad, I feel bad. That’s my religion.
The Holy Prophet Muhammad said:
Seek the guidance of thy soul! Seek the guidance of thy soul! Seek the guidance of thy soul! The virtuous deed is one whereby thy soul feels restful and thy heart contented, and sinful act is one which rankles in thy soul and which contracts thy heart even though the other people endorse it as lawful.
