Amidst our heightened prayers, solidarity and speaking out against terrorism, the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community of Connecticut discovered bullet holes piercing our House of Peace Mosque last week. Our initial response: we won’t let this cowardly act of ignorance and terror scare or stop us in any way and we thank God no one was injured.

The Holy Quran reminds us “be steadfast in the cause of Allah, bearing witness in equity; and let not a people’s enmity incite you to act otherwise than with justice. Be always just, that is nearer to righteousness. And fear Allah. Surely, Allah is aware of what you do” (5:9)

As humanitarian Muslims for peace who believe in Messiah Ahmad, we’ve endured over a century of violent persecution and hate from extremists all around the world. Yet we stand united and march forward under the enlightened leadership and guidance of his holiness Mirza Masroor Ahmad, the true Khalifa of Islam. Our worldwide leader of tens of millions illustrates and teaches us to employ “love for all, hatred for none” and prayer as our weapons. Just this year alone the Ahmadiyya Muslim Youth Association USA has fed over 180,000 hungry compatriots and collected over 5,000 units of blood, potentially saving 15,000 American lives!

So, in the progressive spirit of true Islam and the just teachings of the Holy Quran, we resume our daily prayers and express gratitude for the touching sentiments and outstanding support of authorities as well as our neighbors. Our statewide President, Muhammed Qureshi, along with the entire community, boldly open our doors wider than ever to the public.

Muslim Group Responds To Attack

Amid our heightened prayers, solidarity and speaking out against terrorism, Ahmadiyya Muslim Community CT discovered bullet holes piercing our House of Peace Mosque in Meriden last week. We won’t let this cowardly act of terror scare or stop us in any way, and we thank God no one was injured.

We resume our daily prayers and express gratitude for the touching sentiments and outstanding support of the authorities as well as our neighbors, and we have boldly opened our doors wider than ever to the public.

We invite anyone and everyone to open houses at our mosque at 410 Main St., Meriden, on Friday, Nov. 20 at 1:30 p.m. and Saturday, Nov. 21 at 2 p.m. Let’s unify against terrorism and hatred.
