The Truth Message – Part – 5.14:
Ahmadi Muslims Believe Prophet Mohammad (saw) as Khataman Nabiyyeen
A Misunderstanding (To Be) Removed:
In the so-called ‘white paper’ of the government of Pakistan, a most painful, vile and baseless allegation has been made against the Promised Messiah (peace be on him). It states that the Promised Messiah (peace be on him) God forbid, repudiated the verse of the Holy Quran containing the words ‘Khatamun-Nabiyyeen’ and hence he does not believe in the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be on him) as ‘Khatamun-Nabiyyeen’. According to them the followers of the Promised Messiah (peace be on him), Jamaat Ahmadiyya, also carry the same view.
This obviously is a false and baseless accusation. Anyone who has read the writings of the Promised Messiah (peace be on him) would also reject this charge as false. The irony is that most people are not familiar with the writings of the Promised Messiah (peace be on him). The government of Pakistan has confiscated the Ahmadiyya literature and has banned the propagation of this message to the people, thus depriving them of the opportunity of finding the truth.
Allow me to remove this misunderstanding, please… thank you.
Ahmadi Muslims (followers of The Promised Messiah) do believe in the Holy Prophet Mohammad (Peace be upon him) as Khataman Nabiyyeen [I’ve already described you in-detail the meaning of this word, if you’ve forgotten, read it again here: Prophet Muhammad (saw) is Khataman Nabiyyeen].
The Promised Messiah and Mahdi, the Holy Founder of the Ahmadiyya Movement in Islam (peace be upon him) says:
At the very outset I would like to state categorically that Ahmadies believe the Holy Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings of God be upon him) to be Khataman Nabiyyeen – Seal of the Prophets, as has been stated in the Holy Quran and it is an awful fabrication against the Ahmadies that they do not believe in the doctrine of Khatm-i-Nabuwwat. The difference is only in interpretation of the title and not in the title itself.
“I swear by the glory of God and His Majesty that I am of the faithful, a Muslim and I believe in Allah, the High, in His Books, and in His Messengers and in His Angels and in Life after death. And I believe that our Prophet Muhammad the Elect of God (peace of Allah be on him and His blessings) is the most eminent of the prophets and the Seal of Apostles.” (Hamamatul Bushra, page 6)
He again says:
“The charge made against me and my Community that we do not believe the Messenger of Allah (peace be on him and His blessings) to be the Seal of Prophets is a big falsehood. The faith, the conviction, certitude and the utterness that characterize our belief in the Holy Prophet as the Seal of Prophets, are markedly absent in the belief of these people (those who level this charge at us).” (Al-Hakam, March 19, 1905)
I call Allah, the Glorious, to witness that I am not a disbeliever. My doctrine is that there is no one worthy of worship save Allah and that Muhammad (saw) is the Messenger of Allah. I believe concerning him that he was the Messenger of Allah and the Khataman Nabiyyeen.
I affirm the truth of this statement with as many oaths as are the Holy names of Allah and as are the letters of the Holy Quran and as is the number of the excellencies of the Holy Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him. No belief of mine is contrary to the commands of Allah and His Messenger. He who imagines anything contrary to this labors under a misconception. (Karamatus Sadiqeen, p.25 by Promised Messiah)
The Ahmadiyya belief, beyond any shadow of doubt, is par excellence that the Holy Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings of God be on him) is Khataman Nabiyyeen, i.e., the Seal of the Prophets. In him the excellences of prophethood have reached their perfection and therefore, the door to receiving prophethood independently is closed since his appointment to this office. Henceforth, every kind of Grace is attainable only through serving him.
His advent thus has not closed the stream of Divine Grace but its course has been channelized through his person which is now, so to say, the new Headwork. A prophet, henceforth, shall appear only through allegiance to him, by receiving light from his light and as his shadow and reflection, and not otherwise. Hence, “all prophethood except Muhammadan prophethood has ended. No law-giving prophet shall ever come, and a prophet without law may, but only such as is primarily a follower of the Holy Prophet (Allah bless him). I am both a follower and a Prophet.” (Tajalliyate Ilahiyya by Hazrat Mirza Ghulam Ahmad, pp. 24-25)
The Promised Messiah, peace be on him, has repeatedly affirmed in his writings that he believes that every word and vowel point of the Holy Quran is from God and that this is part of his faith. He considers himself sincere servant of His Holiness Hazrath Mohammad Mustafa (saw) of Arab and had spent his entire life advocating total obedience to him. He said,
Khaakam Nisaar Koocha-e-Aal-e-Mohammadast.
… This favoured servant’s soul was thus honoured to be the ‘Ummati Nabi’ such was his devotion towards our master & saviour – the Nabi-e-Kareem (Chief of Prophets), Khatamun Nabiyyeen (The Seal of Prophets), Khatamul Ambiya (Leader of the elect), Khatamul Mursileen, (Pride of the Prophets), the Siraj-ul-Muneer Mohammad Mustafa (saw) who in himself represented all the other past prophets.
There is a serious contradiction involved in the stand taken by the Mullahs who are opposed to the Ahmadiyya Movement (we all know their many reasons, don’t we?). On the one hand they pronounce the Promised Messiah, peace be on him, a disbeliever because in their estimation his claim of prophethood is contradictory of the verse which pronounces the Holy Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, as being Khataman Nabiyyeen; and on the other hand they believe that Jesus, son of Mary, who is a Prophet, would come a second time. If the Seal of Prophethood is disrupted by the claim of the Promised Messiah (though he is a prophet by reflection) then how is it that it would not be disrupted by the second advent of Jesus who was a Prophet in his own right? The bulk of the Muslims believe that Jesus would descend from heaven in his earthly body and would be a prophet… we’ve already discussed this point in detail, so lets move further on (If you’ve not read that part, read it here: ).
Let us listen to what a devoted servant [The Promised Messiah] has to say on his beloved Master [Prophet Mohammed (saw)]:
From writings of Hadhrat Mirza Ghulam Ahmad (as), The Promised Messiah
The life of the Holy Prophet, peace be on him, was a life of grand success. In his high moral qualities, his spiritual power, his high resolve, the excellence and perfection of his teaching, his perfect example and the acceptance of his prayers, in short, in every aspect of his life, he exhibited such bright signs that even a person of low intelligence, provided he is not inspired by unreasonable rancour and enmity, is forced to confess that he was a perfect example of manifestation of Divine qualities and was a perfect man. (Al-Hakam, 10th April, 1902, p. 5)
If any one should say that this shows my disrespect towards the other Prophets, he would be guilty of uttering a calumny against me. It is part of my faith to honour and respect all the Prophets, but the Holy Prophet’s superiority to all other Prophets is the principal part of my faith and my whole being is saturated with it. It is not within my power to exclude it. Let my unfortunate opponent, who is sightless, say what he pleases, but our Holy Prophet, peace be on him, performed a task, which all the others combined together, or separately, could not have performed. This is Allah’s grace which He bestows upon whomsoever He so wills. (Malfoozat, Vol. II, p. 174)
A person with even very little intellect and some honesty and fear of Allah can easily discover by reading the sacred writings of the Promised Messiah that He was indeed from Allah and his writings contain nothing but the truth about Islam in its purest form.
Do you WANT to know as what does he say about the Holy Prophet of Islam?
A small sample of his writings is presented here for the discerning critic and enlightened readers:
The gist of our faith is: La ilaha illallah Muhammad-ur-rasoolullah (There is no god but Allah, Muhammad (saw) is the Messenger of Allah.)
Our belief, which we hold in this life here on earth and to which we will continue to adhere firmly till the time that we pass on to the next world, is that our spiritual leader and Master, Muhammad, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, is khataman-nabiyyeen, the seal of the prophets and the best of the messengers. At his hands religion has been consummated which guide man on the right path and further on to God Himself.
We hold this belief with absolute certainty that the Holy Quran is the khatamul-kutub, the seal of all divine books, and not an iota can be added to or subtracted from its prescribed teachings, inhibitions, commands and injunctions. There will be no revelation or word from God which may amend or abrogate or change or alter any of the injunctions of the Holy Quran. If anyone subscribes to such views, in our opinion, he ceases to belong to the body of believers and becomes a heretic and an infidel thereby. (Roohani Khazain, Vol. 3, P. 170: Izala-e-Auham)
We do believe that there is none worthy of worship except God Almighty and Sayyadena Hazrat Muhammad Mustafa, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, is His Messenger and khatamul-anbiya. We believe that Angels, Resurrection, Day of Judgment, Heaven and Hell all are reality. (Roohani Khazain, Vol. 14, P. 323: Ayyamus-Sulh)
It would not have been possible for me to have attained this grace if I had not followed the footsteps of my lord and master, the pride of all prophets, the best of mankind, Muhammad, the chosen one, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him. Whatever I have achieved is by following him, and I know from my truly verified experience that no man can reach God to obtain a deeper understanding of His ways without following this Prophet, May peace and blessings of Allah be upon him.
Now, let me also make it known that the very first thing you are rewarded with, after having completely submitted yourself to the instructions and teachings of the Holy Prophet Muhammad, is that you are granted new heart which is always rightly inclined. Such heart loses all love for this material world and instead it begins to yearn for an everlasting and unending heavenly pleasure. Having achieved this sublime state, your heart is now ready to receive that perfect and purest love of God. All these blessings are bequeathed to you as a spiritual heritage because of your complete obedience to the Holy Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him. (Roohani Khazain, V. 22, P. 64-65: Haqeeqatul Wahee)
I have been made to understand that of all the Messengers, the one who brought the perfect and purest of teachings full of wisdom, and one who exhibited in him the noblest of human qualities, is the Holy Prophet Muhammad, our lord and master, may peace and blessings of Allah be upon him. (Roohani Khazain, V. 17, P. 345, Arba’een 1)
From a study of the life of the Holy Prophet, khatamal-anbiya, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, it will become manifest to every reader that the Holy Prophet of Islam possessed exemplary character with purest heart. He was ever ready to sacrifice his life for God; he pinned no hopes on men and entertained no fear of them. He reposed his entire trust in Allah. Having enslaved himself entirely to the will and pleasure of Allah, he did not care what hazards he would face and what suffering he would be subjected to at the hands of the idolaters as a result of declaring to the world the message of the Unity of God. (Roohani Khazain, V. 1, P. 111, Braheene Ahmadiyya)
When we examine with fairness and justice all the prophets of the past, we find that Muhammad, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, the Holy Prophet of Islam, stands out as the most valiant among them, the one who fully possessed all the qualities of life and was the one most endeared to God. (Roohani Khazain, V. 12, P. 82, Sirajual-Muneer)
Non-Ahmadi Muslims regularly allege that Ahmadi Muslims dishonor the Holy Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) by accepting Hadhrat Mirza Ghulam Ahmad as a Prophet of Allah. Truth remains unheard that the Promised Messiah himself was the greatest servant of the Holy Prophet (peace be upon him) and had spent his entire life advocating total obedience to him.
Az bagbañ betars ke mann shaakh e musmaram;
Baad az Khuda ba’ishq e Muhammad Mukhammaram…
Gar Kufr een bawad ba Khuda saqht kafiram!
Accordingly his followers were the ultimate defenders of the Holy Prophet (peace be upon him).
For the sake of protecting the reputation and dignity of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) we Ahmadi Muslims are ever ready to make every required sacrifice and indeed we are making every such sacrifice for this purpose.
I, the writer, of this Truth Message, am an Ahmadi Muslim and you’ve seen my views about the Holy Prophet Mohammad (saw) earlier… if you haven’t, please go back to it and read it again and you’ll know what’s his status in our hearts.
Do I need to explain more?
All Ahmadi Muslims have put everything they own at stake for the sake of Islam and we are trying out all ways to spread this message of peace all around the Globe. We are always ready to sacrifice our lives, money, time & family for the sake of Islam and our beloved prophet (saw), and again it is us who are charged with blasphemy!!!
We are charged with defaming Islam & its prophet (saw) and many other crude charges that NO AHMADI MUSLIM could ever even think of doing – All charges are absolutely ridiculous!
I do not have the courage to mention in words the charges put against us. They are far beyond our imaginations and they, not in the least bit present our beliefs.
I challenge all of you, yes, each and everybody of you: Just pick up any of our authentic book (not fabricated ones) and read it and tell me. Tell me where do you find that we go against Islam! Find me one proof, I challenge you – you’ll fail.
If you have questions, ask us and get all answers.
Ahmadi Muslims believe firmly, fervently, without any ambiguity or reservation and with all their heart and soul, that the Holy Prophet of Islam, Hazrat Muhammad Mustafa (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) is Khatamun Nabiyeen. He was, and will ever remain, the greatest Prophet of all times-past, present and future and, his Shariah will remain unaltered and the guiding code and law till doomsday.
Those opposed to Ahmadiyyat have carried out a vigorous campaign of falsification that Ahmadies do not believe in Khatam-e-Nabuwat and, God forbid, are guilty of down-grading the exalted and supreme status of the Holy Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be on him. This is a cruel, utterly and totally false accusation and can certainly be described and counted as the biggest-lie of the century-if not of all times.
The disbelievers have made this false charge from high pulpits and have made it so repeatedly that a large section of Muslims, who have not cared to check this accusation by referring to the books of the Founder of the Community and other Ahmadiyya literature, have been tricked into believing it. It is incumbent on every Muslim to look into the conflicting claims and decide who is right. This can best be done by recourse to our admittedly common heritage and the source of all guidance.
All followers of Mirza Ghulam Ahmad of Qadian – the Ahmadi Muslims – firmly believed that Only & only by being a servant of the Holy Prophet (sallallahu ‘alaihi wa sallam), and deriving spiritual grace from him, the Promised Messiah Mirza Ghulam Ahmad (as) became an Ummati Nabi – An Ummati Nabi is a Prophet subordinate to the Holy Prophet (sallallahu alihi wa sallam) and within his ummah (followers).
