A member of the Jamaat-e-Ahmadiyya was shot dead in Chenab Nagar on Monday allegedly because of his faith.
Cardiologist Dr Mehdi Ali was on his was way back from a graveyard when two men on a motorbike opened fire. He was shot 11 times, a spokesperson for the Ahmadiyya Jamaat in Rabwah told The Express Tribune.
The 50-year-old US national was visiting Pakistan for research work at Tahrir Cardiac Hospital, Rabwah along with his family.
The attackers managed to flee the scene of the crime. Ali’s body was taken to a nearby hospital. No FIR was registered till the filing of this report.

Martyred this morning just outside Bahishti Maqbra Rabwah, Dr. Mehdi, highly qualified cardiologist, very humble, down to earth, friendly and loving person. He was on waqf e Arzi to Tahir Heart Institute, Rabwah.
Funeral and burial details will be forthcoming. In the interim, let us pray for the dear departed that may Allah elevate his status in the highest echelons of paradise (Jannatul Firdaus) and may He grant patience and steadfastness to his family. Amin.

Dr. Mehdi Ali Qamar had gone to Pakistan from the USA to serve and help the sick and needy in Pakistan. He was volunteering to work in Tahir Heart Institute to provide medical services. An accomplished physician, he was going to help people with the latest medical techniques.
Unfortunately criminals acting in the name of religion extinguished his life.

How does killing innocent people solve any of their problems. You cannot spread your message with hate, you need love to do that. Dr. Mehdi did not commit a crime, he went to pakistan to help those in need. Taking the time out of his own busy life to help those in need. How is this a crime? The people that think killing the innocent will bring them to heaven will see the intensity of their crimes in front of Allah Almighty. They will receive their harsh punishment in the afterlife. If they think that cowardly killing like this will bring them to heaven then they are wrong, killing an unarmed man is disgusting. They will try to destroy ahmadiyat but our community is only getting bigger and we are doing it by promoting peace, not hatred. May Dr. Mehdi rest in peace, he was truly an amazing human being with a big heart and will be very missed.

Inna lillahe wa inna alehe rajeoon… I still don’t believe this happened to such a nice man. He was a very down to earth and helpful person…. A very loving and caring person with lots and lots of qualities. They think they killed him….. No he will always live as he is a shaheed. Don’t know how can someone take a life …a life who’s mission was to help and save people. You will keep on doing such shameful attempts and we will be more strong on out faith…. Love for all hatred for non.
Shahadat momin ki meeras hai…. We are in extreme pain to lose him but on the same time very proud of him that Allah picked him to place in the shaheed bouquet in Jannat.
