Breaking News: Jesus Did Not Die for Our Sins

Epigraph:
So in everything, do to others what you would have them do to you, for this sums up the Law and the Prophets. (Matthew 7:12)

The mystery is that if Jesus came to die for our sins, why does he and others, endlessly, keep talking of salvation through deeds and actions and the Law, in the Holy Bible

Written and collected by Zia H Shah MD, Chief Editor of the Muslim Times

It is old news, but, it seems that it has not reached millions of Christians. They still think that Jesus died for their sins.

So, I am afraid, I have to break this news again to them, by a collection of references from the Holy Bible.

All quotes are from the New International Version of the Bible.  Jesus stressed the Law at the time of his legendary Sermon Mount.  Our good deeds were and are all important and any magical belief in any myth or dogma, is not necessary:

Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them. For truly I tell you, until heaven and earth disappear, not the smallest letter, not the least stroke of a pen, will by any means disappear from the Law until everything is accomplished. Therefore anyone who sets aside one of the least of these commands and teaches others accordingly will be called least in the kingdom of heaven, but whoever practices and teaches these commands will be called great in the kingdom of heaven. For I tell you that unless your righteousness surpasses that of the Pharisees and the teachers of the law, you will certainly not enter the kingdom of heaven. (Matthew 5:17-20)

You will see that Jesus, repeatedly stresses our actions and the Law for our salvation and not some fake belief, in all four canonical Gospels.

Jesus, may peace be on him, profoundly sums up the whole of the Law in one line of the golden rule:

So in everything, do to others what you would have them do to you, for this sums up the Law and the Prophets. (Matthew 7:12)

In the golden words of Sir Francis Bacon’s advice, read on, but, “Read not to contradict … but to weigh and consider.”

Jesus stresses repentance in the Gospel of Matthews, in the very beginning of his ministry:

From that time on Jesus began to preach, “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven has come near.” (Matthew 4:17)

Jesus describes the the wise builders as those, who act on his teachings and the foolish builders, as those who ignore his teachings:

Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock. The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house; yet it did not fall, because it had its foundation on the rock. But everyone who hears these words of mine and does not put them into practice is like a foolish man who built his house on sand. The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house, and it fell with a great crash. (Matthew 7:24-27)

The same teaching is also mentioned in the Gospel of Luke:

Why do you call me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ and do not do what I say? As for everyone who comes to me and hears my words and puts them into practice, I will show you what they are like. They are like a man building a house, who dug down deep and laid the foundation on rock. When a flood came, the torrent struck that house but could not shake it, because it was well built. But the one who hears my words and does not put them into practice is like a man who built a house on the ground without a foundation. The moment the torrent struck that house, it collapsed and its destruction was complete. (Luke 6:46-49)

John the Baptist, who in a way was spiritual superior of Jesus, as he baptized him, also stressed good deeds:

John’s clothes were made of camel’s hair, and he had a leather belt around his waist. His food was locusts and wild honey. People went out to him from Jerusalem and all Judea and the whole region of the Jordan. Confessing their sins, they were baptized by him in the Jordan River.

But when he saw many of the Pharisees and Sadducees coming to where he was baptizing, he said to them: “You brood of vipers! Who warned you to flee from the coming wrath? Produce fruit in keeping with repentance. And do not think you can say to yourselves, ‘We have Abraham as our father.’ I tell you that out of these stones God can raise up children for Abraham. The ax is already at the root of the trees, and every tree that does not produce good fruit will be cut down and thrown into the fire. (Matthew 3:4-10)

The same is retold in the Gospel of Luke:

In the fifteenth year of the reign of Tiberius Caesar—when Pontius Pilate was governor of Judea, Herod tetrarch of Galilee, his brother Philip tetrarch of Iturea and Traconitis, and Lysanias tetrarch of Abilene— during the high-priesthood of Annas and Caiaphas, the word of God came to John son of Zechariah in the wilderness. He went into all the country around the Jordan, preaching a baptism of repentance for the forgiveness of sins.  As it is written in the book of the words of Isaiah the prophet:

“A voice of one calling in the wilderness,
‘Prepare the way for the Lord,
make straight paths for him.
Every valley shall be filled in,
every mountain and hill made low.
The crooked roads shall become straight,
the rough ways smooth.
And all people will see God’s salvation.’”

John said to the crowds coming out to be baptized by him, “You brood of vipers! Who warned you to flee from the coming wrath? Produce fruit in keeping with repentance. And do not begin to say to yourselves, ‘We have Abraham as our father.’ For I tell you that out of these stones God can raise up children for Abraham. The ax is already at the root of the trees, and every tree that does not produce good fruit will be cut down and thrown into the fire.”

“What should we do then?” the crowd asked.

John answered, “Anyone who has two shirts should share with the one who has none, and anyone who has food should do the same.” (Luke 3:1-11)

The Book of James also stresses the Law and righteous deeds more than some magical belief:

Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says. Anyone who listens to the word but does not do what it says is like someone who looks at his face in a mirror and, after looking at himself, goes away and immediately forgets what he looks like. But whoever looks intently into the perfect law that gives freedom, and continues in it—not forgetting what they have heard, but doing it—they will be blessed in what they do. (James 1:22-25)

And:

Those who consider themselves religious and yet do not keep a tight rein on their tongues deceive themselves, and their religion is worthless. Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world.  (James 1:26-27)

The Gospel of Mark, also clarifies for us that unlike St Paul’s idea, the Law is not obsolete or futile, according to Jesus.  In this incident, Jesus stresses the essence or spirit of the Law, over the letter of the Law:

So the Pharisees and teachers of the law asked Jesus, “Why don’t your disciples live according to the tradition of the elders instead of eating their food with defiled hands?”

He replied, “Isaiah was right when he prophesied about you hypocrites; as it is written:

“‘These people honor me with their lips,
but their hearts are far from me.
They worship me in vain;
their teachings are merely human rules.’

You have let go of the commands of God and are holding on to human traditions.”

And he continued, “You have a fine way of setting aside the commands of God in order to observe your own traditions! 10 For Moses said, ‘Honor your father and mother,’ and, ‘Anyone who curses their father or mother is to be put to death.’ But you say that if anyone declares that what might have been used to help their father or mother is Corban (that is, devoted to God)— then you no longer let them do anything for their father or mother.  Thus you nullify the word of God by your tradition that you have handed down. And you do many things like that.”

Again Jesus called the crowd to him and said, “Listen to me, everyone, and understand this. Nothing outside a person can defile them by going into them. Rather, it is what comes out of a person that defiles them.”

After he had left the crowd and entered the house, his disciples asked him about this parable.  “Are you so dull?”he asked. “Don’t you see that nothing that enters a person from the outside can defile them? For it doesn’t go into their heart but into their stomach, and then out of the body.” (In saying this, Jesus declared all foods clean.)

He went on: “What comes out of a person is what defiles them.  For it is from within, out of a person’s heart, that evil thoughts come—sexual immorality, theft, murder, adultery, greed, malice, deceit, lewdness, envy, slander, arrogance and folly. All these evils come from inside and defile a person.” (Mark 7: 5-23)

Even in the Gospel of John, which was the last of the canonical Gospels, to be written, Jesus does not deny the Law of Moses, but, only tries to explain it better, when the Jews criticize him for healing someone on Sabbath:

Jesus said to them, “I did one miracle, and you are all amazed. Yet, because Moses gave you circumcision (though actually it did not come from Moses, but from the patriarchs), you circumcise a boy on the Sabbath. Now if a boy can be circumcised on the Sabbath so that the law of Moses may not be broken, why are you angry with me for healing a man’s whole body on the Sabbath? Stop judging by mere appearances, but instead judge correctly.” (John 7: 21-24)

Epilogue:

Here is my final quote from the book of James and this is the conclusion of my presentation also:

What good is it, my brothers and sisters, if someone claims to have faith but has no deeds? Can such faith save them? Suppose a brother or a sister is without clothes and daily food. If one of you says to them, “Go in peace; keep warm and well fed,” but does nothing about their physical needs, what good is it? In the same way, faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead.

But someone will say, “You have faith; I have deeds.”

Show me your faith without deeds, and I will show you my faith by my deeds. You believe that there is one God. Good! Even the demons believe that—and shudder.

You foolish person, do you want evidence that faith without deeds is useless?  Was not our father Abraham considered righteous for what he did when he offered his son Isaac on the altar?  You see that his faith and his actions were working together, and his faith was made complete by what he did. And the scripture was fulfilled that says, “Abraham believed God, and it was credited to him as righteousness,” and he was called God’s friend. You see that a person is considered righteous by what they do and not by faith alone.  (James 2: 14-24)

  1. Dear Nelson Dias, Mansor Saaid Hasani. There was no look alike. That is a false story which does not suit any one. It does not suit the church at all to say that Jesus was not on the Cross. Forget that story please.

    2. Crucifixion means death on the cross, not just putting some one on the Cross. If a person is put on the Cross and he does not die on the Cross, it means he is not crucified. That is what happened with Jesus a.s.
He was put on the Cross and suffered much. When brought down from Cross, he was still alive like the other two thieves who were put on the Cross on same day. Jesus a.s. had fainted and appeared to be dead.
    3. All the proofs in 65 reasons have been provided from the holy Bible only because the Christians believe in that book. They would not appreciate any proof from the Quran.
    4. The Quran says “Jesus son of Mary was not killed (in any way) and he was not Crucified” (meaning that he did not die on the Cross as his enemies wanted to kill him on Cross. He survived the ordeal of the Cross and it was a miracle for the sake of Jesus a.s.)
    5. His prayer of the garden was accepted by Allah. Allah assured Jesus that he will not die on the Cross. This message was given to Jesus a.s. when he was praying earnestly in the garden of Gethsemane. See Bible NT, an angel visited him and comforted him… Wassalam.

    • Jesus came to fulfill the law. He did what man could not do, he never sinned. That made him the perfect sacrifice for sin. Yes, he died for all man’s sins, once for all. He is the only way to be saved. The purpose of the law was to demonstrate to us we could not keep it, and we needed a savior.

  2. Salam aleikum Mr. Rafiq, shukra, Thank you so much, I couldnt even sleep well, trying to figure that out, makes so much sense now, may Allah recompensate your efforts with me and others in this, and I see why it was using the bible to explain, so, that’s great, wonderful, thank you so much, you’ve explained what no one could, may Allah bless you and your family and your work. Alhumdulilallah !

  3. Salam once again, Im a new muslim, born catholic, and I was thinking and InshallAllah, some one can answer .. How can the one true religion, Islam, have various stories about one issue? Jesus, peace be with him, and his death? I’ve heard it was judas on the cross, it was a look alike and it was only a lil bit the Jesus, peace with him, was on the cross, I really thought he was never on the cross, and Allah saved him before hand, when the Gaurds lowered them selfs.. But if he was put on the cross only for a minute, that is enough to be seen as crucifixion. Jesus stayed away from his enemies, they did not know what he looked like, he only stayed around a selected few. The Koran says he did not go through any torment, nor died or was crucified.. That means not even for a minute. Who crucified him did not know what he looked like, and those that did, did not say nothing, Jesus was ascended already anyways. And his mother did not even say nothing and who was on the cross called her women!.. No son calls his mother that way. All that knew him fled, plus the man on the cross was badly beaten, can’t see his apearece well any ways.. And Jesus, peace be with him, returned from prayer, no one recognized him.. Allah ascended him to heavens after this.. While the crucifiction, Jesus was protected at the garden, away in prayer.

  4. christianity is too funny and most incoherent way of life. jesus was explicitly quoted to have said that he did not come to destroy the law (moses law)but to fulfill it and its application will continue to last hour. later 70 years or more after the departure of jesus paul the liar came up with new law of grace to the effect that christians are no longer bound by moses law and as such they not to be held accountable for any misdeed in contravention of old law(moses law). thus they can kill, rape, lie, commit adultery or any atrocity, yet they are saved and covered by blood of jesus according to law of grace. being conscious of this law of impunity christians killed more than 20 million muslims during crusade wars, millions of muslims and jews killed and or expelled from spain, 50 million aboriginists killed and raped in americas, 60 million africans killed during slave trade , 100 millions in asia and other atrocities committed by christians in different parts of the world, yet all the perpetrators of these heinous crimes contrary to moses law are automatically saved and covered by blood of jesus according to law of grace. in nigeria christians killed more than 2 million muslims in plateau and kaduna, got the bodies of some roasted and eatened by christian canibalists, sponsoring boko haram rascal to kill muslims to reduce their number. nigerian christians have the highest number of prostitutes appearing naked on the streets. the christian president jonathan is the most corrupt leader nigeria eve had where he looted more than $100bs and gave some to christian leaders now flying private jets, in returned he is assured of automatic salvation accoding to law of grace. thus this law of grace leads to more evil than satanic book of talmud. under the talmud a jew is free to kill non-jew like a cow. but a jew will be held accountable for killing his fellow jew. under the law of grace a christian is not to held accountable for killing any body including his fellow christian. in reality christians carried out more killings than jews

  5. Dear Nelson Dias, Mansor Saaid Hasani, in above post Ibrahim Itace has shown one aspect of Christianity. The Crusaders killed many Christians in Palestine (long ago) not knowing that they were Christians.

I need to address your problems. Please note that look alike theory is absolutely false. Allah (God) will never give the shape of Jesus (or any other prophet) to any corrupt person. This is a basic rule of every religion. Otherwise people could be misguided by that look alike.
Please know that it was Jesus himself on the cross. His enemies i.e. the elders of the Jews wanted to kill Jesus on the cross so as to prove that Jesus was not a holy man from God. They wanted to prove, as per teachings of old testament (OT) that any one killed on the cross or tree is a cursed person, and the cursed person is not a friend of God. He is far away from the mercy of God.
Jesus a.s. was not afraid to die. But he did not want to die on the cross. So he prayed in the garden and requested God Almighty to pass the cup away from him. That cup was death on the cross which was being prepared for him by his enemies.
According to Mathew, if a son ask his Father for bread, will the Father give him a stone? Never. Also if a son ask his father for fish, will the father give him a serpent or scorpion? Never.
So if Jesus asked the Father (God Almighty) for taking away the cup, will the Father not respond according to his wishes. Father will respond. If the prayer of Jesus a.s. offered in great agony in the Garden of Gethsemane is not accepted then it puts a bad omen on the Christian religion.

God accepted the prayer of Jesus as mentioned in the Quran ch.3 and promised four things to Jesus.
    1. That he will die a normal peaceful death.
    2. That he will be raised (in ranks) to God.
    3. That any blame on his name will be removed.
    4. That his followers (Christians and Muslims) will prevail and will be ruling over the enemies of Jesus for long time.

In these four promises, the first promise is that of a natural, peaceful death. The promise of raising him to heavens is after the death. So only his soul will be raised and not the body.
This message was passed to Jesus by the angel (Gabriel a.s.) Gabriel is the messenger angel who brings messages to all prophets. He (Gabriel) is also called the Holy Spirit.
Quran tells that message of acceptance of Jesus prayer was passed to Jesus so he was satisfied and happy.
Bible NT also tells us that when he was praying in the garden, an angel visited Jesus and comforted him. i.e. gave him good news.
Please remember that Crucifixion means death on the cross. If the man does not die on the cross, he is not Crucified. That is what Quran is telling in few words that Jesus did not die on the Cross. He appeared to be dead. It was a miracle for the sake of Jesus.
At that time, nobody could say that he was alive. If any one said that then they will break his legs and kill him and it would be bad for Jesus.
If you have any more problem or need reference etc. please say so. We all love Jesus and his mother. But we do not like his enemies. Wassalam.

  6. mr ghulam, you have fallen into grievous error in an effort to correct mr dias’s view on “look alike” position of muslim umma. mr dias is right and his view that jesus was never put on the cross, rather it was another person who appeared like him that was put on the cross and killed , is supported by plain meaning of quranic verse”wama qataluhu wama salabuhu walakin shubbiha lahum(they did not kill him nor crucified him, but another appeared to them like him) and preponderant opinion of rightly guided and qualified muslim scholars pursuant to numerous ahadith of prophet muhammad. the only isolaed and heretic opinion that jesus was put on cross but did not die was held by christian missionary agent ghulam ahmad of qadian to cause confusion among muslims in india. i dont know if mr ghulam is an ahmad for subsribing to this obnoxious opinion. mr ghulam please dont confuse sincere muslim converts like mr dias. i urge mr dias to maintain his original view. thanks

  7. @Ibrahim etace:
rather it was another person who appeared like him that was put on the cross and killed , is supported by plain meaning of quranic verse”wama qataluhu wama salabuhu walakin shubbiha lahum(they did not kill him nor crucified him, but another appeared to them like him)
    —————————–
Please try to read my post properly. Allah will never give the shape or face of a prophet to any bad person.
You are reading the verse totally wrong. You seem to belong to those Maulvis who believe that before putting on Cross, Allah took away Jesus to the sky and in his place Allah put some other guy in the jail?? That is not any sensible thinking. You are trying to make Allah do as you like.
Please read the meaning of that verse here:
quranic verse”wama qataluhu wama salabuhu walakin shubbiha lahum(they did not kill him in any way nor crucified (killed him on the cross) him, but he was made to appear to them as Crucified.
It means Jesus was put on the Cross. He suffered much on the Cross. When he was brought down from the cross, he was still alive but appeared to them as dead.
That word “shubbiha lahum” is referring to Crucifixion not to any person.
I suppose, you believe that Isa a.s. is still alive in heavens and he has not died. Please check up these things and Try to read more of the Quran and Hadith. Wassalam.

  8. i maintain my position and reject ahmadiyya heretic view. the view that a bad person will not like a prophet is refering to satan who will never look like a prophet in the dream.but in the instant issue there are about 70 ahadith confirming that jesus was never put on the cross and killed, it was rather another person made to appear like him who was put on the cross and killed instead of jesus. note the expression “shubbiha lahum”which is passive. it means it was almighty allah who made that traitor(juda) to look like jesus. …

  9. Not possible at all. Allah will not give the face of prophet to any criminal or bad person or any other person because it (he) can mislead the people with wrong message.
Please present those Hadith which say that it was not Jesus but some one else on the cross. There is no such Hadith.
That replacement story was cooked by some Christian monk in the sixth century. Muslims are being made a fool by that false story.
“Shubbiha lahum” means Jesus was made to appear to people as a one Crucified, as if “killed on the Cross.” It does not say that the person who came down from the Cross was made to appear as Jesus. What did he look like before going up on the cross? Did he look different?
The truth of the matter is that Jesus was himself put on the cross to be killed. He suffered very much. He was taken down after few hours and was not dead. But he appeared to be dead to all people.
And the people could never say that he was still alive. All said and agreed that he was dead. If any one had spoken one word of doubt then the legs of Jesus would have been broken. And that would have certainly killed Jesus. But Allah (God Almighty, or the Father) did not want Jesus to die on the Cross. Allah had promised Jesus that he will die a peaceful death (Tawaffa) and not be killed in any way. That is mentioned in the Quran and a hint is there in the BIble NT too.
The enemies of Jesus were not successful. Jesus succeeded in his mission.
The physician Nicodemus knew that Jesus was alive. They took him away and took care of him in a spacious room like tomb.
    Jesus was never formally buried.
The replacement story is completely false. I ask Ibrahim itace about who was walking 70 miles going to Galilee to meet his disciples? He took some fish and honey from them to eat?/ Was that also not Jesus?
Because according to the replacement story, Jesus was taken up alive into heavens before the event of the cross and some one else was put on the cross. That some one else must have come down from cross, looking like Jesus. Now another question, was that look alike alive or dead? If he was dead then he cannot become alive in the tomb due to the Quranic teachings which says that dead people do not come back to this world again. There is a barrier for them (Barzakh).
If he was alive then the story of resurrection is false and it puts much doubt on the disciples who certified that it was Jesus himself with them in Galilee.
There are so many problems with the look alike story. First of all, the Jews and the Christians will never believe that it was not Jesus himself on the Cross. Let us take the opinion of the Christians who are happily spreading this false story amongst the Muslims. Do they believe that it was some one else on the cross? Please think over and kindly let me know.
Nelson Dias, Mansor Saaid Hasani is a new Muslim. He is good. I will right a new post specially for MR. Hasanai.

  10. I have to write the matter again about verse 4:158,: “Wa Maa qataloo hu wa maa salaboo hu wa laakin shubbiha lahum……”
    Trans: whereas they slew him not, nor crucified him, but he was made to appear to them like one crucified;
This “shubbiha lahum” refers to their claim of crucifixtion, not to any person or shape of a person.
Crucifixtion means death on the cross. It does not mean just putting on the cross. If a person is put on the cross but he does not die then he is not crucified. The act of crucifixion did not complete because the person did not die on the cross.

  11. still i cannot buy your ahmadiyya … opinion unsupported by any reliable islamic authority , but simple logic. logic is not the detemining factor in the interpretation of islamic sources (quran and hadith .it is just a tool to be employed in aid like language and literature . the verse “wama qataluhu wama salabuhu walakin shubbiha lahum” is plain that jesus was never put on the cross and killed.the expression “wama salabuhu”shall only mean they did not put him on the cross and killed. in nahw(grammar)the two sentences wama qataluhu and wama salabuhu are badal (subtitutes)showing emphasis because the two means the same.ie when allah told us that jesus was never killed as they claimed,he emphasised that nor the killing carried out by method of cruxifiction which is another way of killing. it mean they did not killed him at all.what followed then was that another person was made to appear like him (walakin shubbiha lahum.this is supported by numerous ahadith and agreed upon by preponderant opinion of most learned muslim scholars, both sunni and shia. …

  12. How another man appeared there looking like Jesus? I have told you Allah will never give the face of a prophet to any one because then he can mislead the public.
You say there are Hadith in this matter. Please quote them. Shubbihaa lahum means Jesus was made to appear to them as if crucified.
Verse says “they could not kill him in any way nor could they kill him on the cross. But he was made to appear as if dead after the incident of the cross.”
Your replacement theory is false. It will never be admitted by any sensible Muslim or Christian or Jew. Try to present it to any Jew or Christian.
I am not selling anything of Ahmadiyat to you. You are free to believe what you like. No harm to me. Please be free to decide for yourself.
You are trying to say that:
    1. It was not Jesus who was nailed on the cross. The nails were not in the hands and feet of Jesus.
    2. The nails were in the hands and feet of some other unknown person.
    3. That unknown person was on the cross and he suffered much in place of Jesus.
4.That unknown person yelled out “O My Lord, O My Lord, Why have you forgotten me?”
    5. That unknown person was brought down from cross and declared as dead by the persons there.
    6. That unknown person was taken away by his close friend (Joseph of Armithea) and put in a tomb.
    7. That unknown person resurrected (was risen) and he walked 70 miles to Galilee and met his disciples in a private place there.
    8. That unknown person took some fish and honey and ate it there.
Are you sure what you are trying to say to all of us, please. Your replacement theory has a long list of questions.
    Wassalam.

  13. mr ghulam , which kind of islamic scholar are you ?you heavily rely on christian bible full of invented lies.you never cited any recognised tafsir on the interpretation of verses concerning this issue.you prefer to make reference to christian authorities, which are to be treated with caution. mufassirun make reference to christian authorities on details that do no contradict islam. mr ghulam , i will not allow you to mislead people. it is better you refer to previous tafasir to guide you. i am a lawyer and i as such know the importance of precedence.it is too risky to rely on christian authorities to invent new pattern of tafsir.

  14. Dear ibrahim itace, you are a lawyer. You believe that it was not Jesus a.s. on the Cross but it was some one else. Okay.
Can you sell this stuff to any Christian or a Jew? If they will never accept it from you then why are you trying to feed it to the Muslims please?
Your story does not make sense as I have thoroughly explained it in my previous post. Please try to give your reply to all my 8 questions point by point with “yes” or “No”. Thanks.

  15. there is no need for a true muslim to satisfy jews or christians . allah told us that they will hardly agree with you untill you follow their wrong way. you should therefore try to present true islamic position , not doing willy -willy to satisfy them. you are compromising a very fundamental position of islam to please misguided christians and jews. in return they will never agree with you unless they revert to islam.note putting jesus on the cross and killed is the basis of disagreement between islam and filthy christianity. jews and christians are saying it happened , but allah told us it did not. mr ghulam you are now telling me that jews and christians will never accept my stuff. i am less concern even if they reject, because they are on wrong side. bible is not reliable because it is a mixture of words of god and man-made false doctrines. i assure you muslims will never allow you to mislead them no matter how you try.

  16. @Ibrahim itace: bible is not reliable because it is a mixture of words of god and man-made false doctrines. i assure you muslims will never allow you to mislead them no matter how you try.
    ——————————
I would not call Christians as filthy. Bible is much distorted but still it has much truth in it. You think Christians are misled. But you believe that Jesus did not die and that he is alive in the sky. That is a belief of the Christians. You need to understand the meaning of Crucifixion. Crucifixion means dying on the Cross, not just putting up on the Cross. You want that Jesus should not be on the Cross.
I say that Jesus can be on the Cross and if he does not die on the Cross, he is not Crucified. That serves the purpose of the Quran. That is what the Quran is telling that Jesus was not killed in any way (by sword etc.) and also not killed on the Cross. He appeared to be dead.
You do not want Jesus to be on the Cross at all and you want to take him away alive to heavens. That is not possible.
In a way you are supporting the Christians who say that Jesus is not dead and he is in heavens or in the Sky. You are saying the same thing. Who is helping the Christians? You or I?
You say Jesus is still alive. I say he died at a good age of 120 years as per Hadith of the holy prophet s.a.w.s.
The important thing is that you are denying the teachings of the Quran in which Allah promised Jesus that he will die a normal death (Mutawaffee). And then (after death) he will be raised close to Allah. First promise is death. Then the promise of raising up. That cannot be the body. It can only be the soul of Jesus a.s. as it is in the case of all men of God (Allah).
Ibrahim, please keep trying. But see the Quran and Hadith too.

  17. Funny, but you do not even seem to read the words you are writing. First, you quote Jesus telling us Matthew 5:20 – “For I tell you that unless your righteousness surpasses that of the Pharisees and the teachers of the law, you will certainly not enter the kingdom of heaven. <<< Here's a clue for you, it is not possible to abide by the law better than those that teach the law! In essence, no one, not even the Pharisees and the teachers of the law can enter the kingdom of heaven based on their own merit. That includes Mohammad – who killed people and raided caravans, something known as stealing according to the Bible. So yes, the Law only brings death, not salvation. Remember, on the day the Torah was presented to the Israelites, 3,000 people died because of their sin.

Sadly you also do not understand that the Golden Rule is not the summation of the Law. The Law was summed up by two commandments, not one. Matthew 22:36 “Teacher, which is the great commandment in the Law?” 37 And he said to him, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. 38 This is the great and first commandment. 39 And a second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself. 40 On these two commandments depend all the Law and the Prophets.”

You suggest that John the Baptist was superior to Jesus? Based on the fact that John baptized Jesus? Really, you have not read well, then. In Matthew 3 we see that John did not compare to Jesus even by his own standards. Matthew 3:11 “I baptize you with water for repentance, but he (Jesus) who is coming after me is mightier than I, whose sandals I am not worthy to carry. He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire. 12 His winnowing fork is in his hand, and he will clear his threshing floor and gather his wheat into the barn, but the chaff he will burn with unquenchable fire.” <<>>Luke 3:4 As it is written in the book of the words of Isaiah the prophet,

“The voice of one crying in the wilderness:
‘Prepare the way of the Lord,
    make his paths straight.
5 Every valley shall be filled,
and every mountain and hill shall be made low,
and the crooked shall become straight,
and the rough places shall become level ways,
6 and all flesh shall see the salvation of God.’”

This passage tells us a few things. First John the Baptist was simply the man he was “the voice of one crying in the wilderness.” But John was preparing the way for the Lord – Jesus! And the Jesus was “the salvation of God.”
But lets put this discussion to a rest. Jesus Himself predicted His death on the cross three times. John 12:32 And I, when I am lifted up from the earth, will draw all people to myself.” 33 He said this to show by what kind of death he was going to die. <<< Jesus was indicating that His death would be by crucifixion.

  18. Charles thanks for your comment. When I have time I can respond with greater detail. For now I will remind other readers to read the article again and remember that political and religious debates are often dogmatic.

Some come with their own body of alternative facts like President Trump and a constant back and forth is simply futile.
