Urdu Post Canada reports that Umme Rubab 46 has defrauded hundreds of people in Toronto & GTA of large sums of money. Umme Rubab real name is Nuzhat Mahmood. So far she has defaruded people of nearly $400,000/- Affected families are contacting authorities and ministries. Her method of cheating is giving heavy dividends on monies invested. She claims herself to be a businesswomen. She is due in Brampton court on February 17. In the past months she has taken out full page advertisements in Urdu to prove her innocence. She is fiery speaker, has delivered speeches at various meetings and gatherings.
Peel – Arrest Made in Investment Fraud
Peel – After a lengthy investigation, officers from the Peel Regional Police Fraud Bureau have arrested a female in relation to an investment fraud.
Nuzhat MAMOON, also known as Umme RUBAB, a 46 year-old Brampton resident, is alleged to have committed the fraud over a period of at least one year, targeting victims from the South Asian and Muslim communities in Brampton and Mississauga. MAMOON convinced victims to invest in her business ventures, promising to return the money with a profit within two weeks. To date, MAMOON has defrauded various victims of over $79,000.00.
On Wednesday, January 22, 2014, Nuzhat MAMOON/Umme RUBAB was arrested and charged with Defrauding the Public. She appeared at the Ontario Court of Justice on Thursday, January 23, 2014.

According to reports published in Urdu newspapers Mississauga resident Mr Sarwar Zaidi was sentenced on January 23, 2014 6 months in jail and reimburse $86000/- to people he had defrauded. Mr Zaidi defrauded people under various company names like Goldstein Modeling and Casting based in Streetville. He had bogus trade marks for many companies. He used many names such as Mike Hertz, Mike Hertzberg, Ozie Goldstein, Raj, Raj Naeem, and Ozie Zaidi. Bogus companies he ran were Century Modeling and Talent Agency, Plant Model Management, Plant Photography.
Zaid would entice young people with acting in movies and modeling. After his advertisements were published in newspapers young men and women visited his office in Mississauga. He would audition them, take advance money, and provide photography work to young people. Many young people gave him large amounts of money in the hope to get a change to work in a movie or do modeling.

Talent scout faces jail time for misleading actors and models
A Mississauga talent scout was sentenced to six months in jail after taking advantage of aspiring actors and models.
A Mississauga talent scout faces jail time after misleading dozens of young actors and models who were looking for their “big break,” according to the Ontario Ministry of Consumer Services.
The purported talent scout conducted auditions and accepted upfront fees for promised roles in commercials, television shows and movies that never materialized.
As the scheme progressed, the victims were given excuses as to why the promised jobs never came to fruition.
Saroor Hassan Zaidi was sentenced to six months in jail and ordered to pay more than $86,000 in restitution to dozens of people on Jan. 23. Zaidi had earlier pleaded guilty to one count of defrauding the public.
In the past 10 years Zaidi has twice been convicted of similar offences under the Consumer Protection Act.
Zaidi also went by the aliases, Mike Hertz, Mike Hertzberg, Uzi Goldstein, Rajj, Raj Naaem and Uzi Xaidi, the ministry said.
He also operated a number of businesses including, Century Models & Talent Agency, Planit Model Management, Planit Photography and most recently, Goldstein Modelling and Casting Toronto, which operated out of Streetsville in Mississauga.
The Ontario’s Consumer Protection Act carries a fine of up to $250,000 for corporations and $50,000 for individuals convicted of offences. A conviction can also lead to jail terms of up to two years less a day for each offence.
