Report By: Abu Bakar Thitenge

The Ahmadiyya Muslim Community of the Democratic Republic of Congo organized the reception this Saturday (August 17, 2013) at 14:00 hours in the Botanical Garden of Kinshasa to mark the end of Ramadan, commonly called Eid-ul-Fitr.

The participation of esteemed guests enhanced the significance of meeting: Among those invited were special representative of Prime Minister of DRC, the Consulate of the Russian Diplomatic Mission, The Mission in-charge of the Embassy of the United States, different politico-administrative authorities, government representatives and members of civil society.

After recitation of the Holy Quran and a poem with translation, a short welcome address was presented. A brief introduction for the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community was also delivered.

To boost the program, another ceremony was also included.

A Congo based NGO named ONG/DYNAMIQUE DES MEDIAS CONGOLAIS POUR LA PAIX ET LE DEVELOPMENT took the opportunity to bestow a diploma of Excellence and Merit upon the Ameer Jama’at Ch. Naeem Ahmad Bajwa Sahib for the efforts that Jama’at Ahmadiyya deployed in spreading peace, improving health, and the social and cultural conditions of the people of D.R.Congo.

The President of this organization said that this recognition was far from flattery, but is presented as a mark of appreciation for the efforts made by the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community.

In his keynote address the Ameer Jama’at, representative of his Holiness the fifth Caliph of the Promised Messiah (as), thanked the Almighty God and explained how to establish peace and harmony in the society according to teaching of Islam.

He said the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community is determined to spread the message of peace to the whole world which is summed up in the motto that is “Love for all, hatred for none.”

Immediately after his address, Ameer Jama’at Saheb conducted the presentation of gifts to all the participants which included the Holy Quran’s French version, other Jama’at literatures and CDs that carry the speech of His Holiness Hadhrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad (atba).

A special message of PM of DRC was delivered by his chief adviser. Efforts made by Ahmadiyya Muslim jama’at in DRC were well appreciated by all the guests.

The ceremony was closed with a silent prayer lead by the Ameer Sahib. Later meal was served to guests.
