The leader of Nigeria‘s Islamist militant group Boko Haram has called for more attacks against schools, describing western education as a “plot against Islam”, in a video released days after his fighters killed 46 students in an assault on a dorm.
In the 15-minute recording released at the weekend, Abubakar Shekau said schools would continue to be targeted “until our last breath”.
“Teachers who teach western education? We will kill them! We will kill them in front of their students, and tell the students to henceforth study the Qur’an,” he said, gesticulating energetically while dressed in military fatigues and a traditional hat.

I hope that those who ‘degrade’ the so called ‘Western education’ are to be reminded that this is largely a contribution from early Islamic scholars!!!
How ignorant are the so called upholders of Islam!!! Islam stands for Peace and Submission to the Will of Allah. It is obvious that they either have not read the Holy Quran or don’t understand its message. No where will one find anything close to what these Terrorists have been up to!!! They are simply thugs in a religious garb!! This is a reflection of utter misguidance and a hunger for terror as a fuel for their deviant minds!!!
Such ignorance that has brought great pain and sorrow to the parents and family of the poor students who lost their lives in the pursuit of knowledge. These are children who sought knowledge in keeping with the teachings of the Holy Quran and Islam and were martyred by thugs who bring such disrepute to the peaceful religion of Islam!!
We can only pray that may Allah Ta’ala Guide these ignorant persons to understand the true meaning of Islam. Ameen.
My advice to Shekarau and his company of murderers is that they should come down from this mountain of self deceit. I suspect that he wnet to school. He would first have killed hos father and mother who sent him to school. Then we can see the heroism of his campaign.The only worry i have for them is that the end for him and his company of evil is nothing to be imagined. As Osama Bin Laden was brought down so shall he be brought down. Sad enough, the flames of hellfire will recieve his soul where he will be tormented in eternal perdition.
Let him embrace Jesus Christ and come to repentance. That is the only hope left for him and his band of nihilist who claim to be propagating Islam.

Abduction of these school girls is a serious crime. Whenever a crime occurs we do not look at the religion of the perpetrator. Nor we look at his claim of why he did it. We look at the crime and deal with it accordingly. Now Bokoharam may claim they have done this in keeping with their understanding of Islam, (which is wrong) but it is a crime. They are creating disorder in the world and Quran declares it a bigger crime than murder. So these criminals are worthy of death penalty according to the Quranic teachings.
Namelee, if you bring religion into this you are only strengthening the hands of the criminals. Some other ignorants may think that this is what the religion says. I am more affected by the heinous crimes of boko haram … and what they do has always been condemned by me. But I am quick to realize that boko haram is acting out a script.
When you say that some crimes are worse than murder, that is very worrisome because it gives impetus to murderers to see their actions as child’s play. So they have to kill much more.

Boko Haram are a criminal terrorist gang and their activities have nothing at all to do with Islam.
All cultures are not equal. All values are not equal. In present times Western democracy and system of government has many excellent traditions. Western values of social equality, religious freedom and rights of minorities including women is laudable. (Real Islam agrees with all of these values). These good values should be defended. The imported extremists who wish to implement their extremist agenda and destroy the peaceful Western societies should be resisted and marginalized. They should be treated as criminals that they are. They should not be allowed refuge behind religious freedom. It should be realized that no Muslim faction believes in religious freedom nor they will practice it if they gain control. Until they prove with their actions (not just words) they should not be allowed to preach their hatred.
No doubt that the Islam of Holy Prophet and the Islam in the Holy Quran is liberal, accommodating of opposing ideas, promotes peace and lives with others as brothers. But there is no place in this world where that Islam exists. No Muslim of today believes in it. It is a pipe dream at the present time. Muslims need decades if not centuries to become moderate and learn the real Islam. Until such time they should be considered dangerous and handled with care.

Your comment would have ended brilliantly, had you not said that the islam of the quran and that of Muhammad was tolerant and accommodated diverse religions.
Where minority religions were allowed at all, most dehumanizing conditions were imposed on the adherents. These could be found in the pact of Umar which he said was patterned after what Muhammad did or said.
It is also a misrepresentation to say that ‘real islam’ agrees with the lofty freedoms provided in the West. Women’s right, for instance, was killed from Muhammad’s time. While he married a woman who was successful in business, Muhammad confined women to the prison-like home where they were barred from seeing men other than their husbands and kindred. Women could no longer go out except they were policed like criminals. On top of that, they became outcasts by being required to cover their entire being.
Equally murdered was the freedom of speech. Criticizing Muhammad or disagreeing with him became a capital offense. He extended this to cover the clerics who could not be argued with.

The awful reality is that the Northern Nigerian Boko Haram leaders interpret and are inflamed by the alight by the words of the Qur’an. Abraham, their illustious ancestor; Ishmael,the father of their nation; Moses, the lawgiver of the Jews and Jesus the author of Christianity, had all asserted the same thing; and that their followers had universally corrupted the truth, and that he was now commissioned to restore it to the world.
The author of the Qur’an relentlessly describes the future that awaits unbelievers, their despair,regret,penitence, and torment. Death or conversion. “The Sword,” said Muhammad, “is the key of heaven and of hell; a drop of blood shed in the cause of God, a night spent arms is of more avail than two months fasting or prayer”.
On the other hand, for true believers of this faith, his promised afterlife was of a voluptuous paradise, with robes of silk, palaces of marble, rivers and shades, groves and couches, wines, and dainties, and above all, the promise of seventy-two virgins assigned to each of the faithful, each of resplendent beauty and eternal youth.
Whilst the Prophet laid down a strict restraint on the drinking of wine, in the use of women and young females, he allows an almost unboundeded male indulgence: Four or more wives with the liberty of changing them at will, together with the use/abuse of all his female captives, a belief that is at the heart of savage brutality of Boko Haram.
Boko Haram are not real men. And not real Muslims. Weak terrorist murderers and saplings who feel threatened by women who will cut the throat of anyone and recite the Koran.

They just want to create misunderstanding between us(muslims and christians) so that they can continue their evil projects without us making any positive decision towards suppressing or eliminating them. That’s why they are using the name Islam. Please we should all stop thinking otherwise and think of a way out of this mess.

My dear brothers,I have been reading your aguments from the scratch till now,i found no body talking about saving the lives of children who are still at the hands of those bandits. Lets not indulge in the talk about religious value but rather talk about what president Jonathan do to stop more damage.
I may advice the Mr president to accept the bandits orders,and release their fellows,this will do no harm to him and children in the bush who are terrified.After the exchange of a man for the children is over then the weak nigerian army and their suppoters can arrange for attack to kill them all.
