Bangladesh Jamaat e Islami being outlawed soon

While Bangladesh Election Commission has already served notice on Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami asking it to make some changes in its party’s charter which do not conform to country’s constitution and Representation of the People Order [RPO], top policymakers of the ruling party are actively considering banning this Islamist political party in Bangladesh considering its past record of violence as well as unruly moves in disrupting the trial process of the war criminals.

Sources at Election Commission told Weekly Blitz that the RPO clearly stipulates that a political party will be disqualified from getting registered if any provision in its charter contradicts the country’s constitution and the RPO. Registration with the EC is a prerequisite for any political party to contest parliamentary polls.
