Ahmadinejad denounces United Nations Security Council (UNSC) for monopolizing United Nations’ power
I believe Swiss President in agreement with Iran’s President on this issue. Well, in fact, who does not agree with the Iranian President on this issue?

Iran’s President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has vehemently criticized the United Nations Security Council, saying the 15-member body has monopolized the UN’s power.
“The members of this council (the UN Security Council) have monopolized the entire power of the United Nations,” President Ahmadinejad said in a press conference after addressing the 67th session of the UN General Assembly in New York on Wednesday.
He added that the UN is the organization of nations and all members should enjoy equal rights.
The president emphasized that the existence of discriminatory moves in the United Nations is the cause of many global woes, stating that all UN members should take part in the decision-making process of the world body “freely, without pressure and each with one vote.”
Ahmadinejad said that two permanent members of the UN Security Council are currently imposing their will on all members of the United Nations. He added that in all clashes across the world, one side of the conflict is one of these two Security Council members.
These have led to the Security Council’s failure to fulfill its duties, he pointed out.
Ahmadinejad added that certain permanent members of the Security Council are after more exclusive privileges and noted that they are preventing the body from carrying out its duties by exerting pressure.
Now, the Security Council is at an impasse and is unable to maintain international security, he stated.

Okay, Yes! Thanks for this posting. The Iranian President, Mr. Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, during his eight years’ long stay in the Presidency, has delivered this 8th address/speech in the UN General Assembly’s 67th Session, and as usual this speech also, has left a deep impact on his TV-glued listeners, and you have rightly said the speech has created some’Ripples’, yes, not some,but deep ripples, and not only in the UN corridors but also in the USA (without visiting it) a country which along with the Israel, thought it fit to boycott this truth-telling,bitter, eye-opening speech, aimed to hit the larger(selfish) powers which have usurped and monopolized the UNO powers, in their own selfish greedy hands making the whole UN structure look like up-side-down, endangering the world peace and security and also negating the rule of law in international relations for fruitful cooperation.
One wishes that the USA should not have boycotted this bold, brave matter-of-facts address. I am sure if Foreign Secretary Ms Clinton had attended personally attended and listened this speech, she would have felt much more informed/wiser as far as Iranian thinking and policy-matters were concerned.
Many thought of this address, really an embodiment of the Urdu saying:-‘Dil say jo baat nekalti hay Asar rakhti hai’. This speech has now made it pertinently clear that Veto power of the larger states must have to be abolished in order to make all UN Member States equal in the eyes of national and International law and thus we make our ‘global village’,a place peacefully safe and secure for all and for all the time to come.
