Extreme UAE weather tests nerves during Ramadan

 

Al Ain: The weather has not been kind to people fasting during Ramadan. The temperature in some desert areas shot up to 50 degrees Celsius in the first few days of the month.

People are avoiding outdoor activities given the tough conditions.

In towns such Al Ain, Suwaihan and Umm Al Zumol, forecasters have reported temperatures of 50 degrees Celsius and above. Even Abu Dhabi city saw the temperature rising to 47 degrees Celsius.

  1. The ‘normal citizen’ will not suffer much, as he might be commuting from the air-conditioned villa via air-conditioned car to the air-conditioned office for a shorter working day. Of course there are a few workers who need to be outdoors, for them it is tough.
