The pioneering work of Abdus Salam, Pakistan’s only Nobel laureate, helped lead to the apparent discovery of the subatomic “God particle” last week. But the late physicist is no hero at home, where his name has been stricken from school textbooks.

Praise within Pakistan for Salam, who also guided the early stages of the country’s nuclear program, faded decades ago as Muslim fundamentalists gained power. He belonged to the Ahmadi sect, which has been persecuted by the government and targeted by Taliban militants who view its members as heretics.

Many Pakistanis who are not influenced by Mullah appreciate and acknowledge his achievements, but the
dishonest governmental officials has to please Mullah for the sake of their rule.
Dr. Abdussalaam was a gem of a person. A true hero of Pakistan in particular and in general for the mankind. A best well wisher that Pakistan could ever have. I salute him from the depth of my heart and soul. His alike are not born everyday. May Allah exalt his status in heavens.Amen
His achievements only humbled him more and more and brought him more closer to God. He never forgot who he was. Always valued his religious and national identity and took pride in them..
My heart shed tears on the hardheartedness un-visionary approach of this Nation. They have not only denied a right of respect to a most deserving person but have closed the door to progress on themselves, which as a developing Nation is suicidal.
Only God knows how this nation will ever get a salvation.

I knew uncle Salam since 1949 and have been enjoying his love and guidance ever since until his demise in 1996.Once I asked him what was he trying to prove?
He explained to me that after understanding the HOLY QURAN, which he listened rapturously-the RECITATION of Many QARIES sent to him by many friends, he wanted to prove, scientifically THE ONLY ONE POWER OF ALLAH AND HIS UNITY.DR. Salam was a practising Ahmadi Muslim, devoted to the Khilfat e Ahmadiyya and utterly obedient to KHULAFA-e-AHMADIYYAT ALWAYS. I have had many occassions to note his LOVE of ALLAH AND THE HOLY QURAN during my meetings with him in London.In fact “GOD PARTICLE” or “HIGGS BOSON” was not only the unshakeable BELIEF of Dr. Salam but, also by reducing the FOUR primary forces into THREE, he paved the way for other researchers to REALIZE THE REAL ONE UNIQUE FORCE OF ALLAH-WAHID FORCE-ORIGINATOR OF ALL “OTHER” various forces-THE MANIFESTATION OF SOME OF THE ATTRIBUTES OF ALLAH SUBHAN-o-TA’ALLA.
