On 13th Feb 2016 Saturday a Peace Symposium on the topic “The Devastating consequences of a nuclear war and the critical need for absolute justice” was organized by The Ahmadiyya Muslim Community Kolkata at Rama Krishna mission institute of art and culture, Golpark in which hundreds of people belonging from different religion/faith/sects participated.
The Program was presided by Zafar Ahmad president of The Ahmadiyya Muslim community Kolkata. Swami Suparnanandaji – Head of Ramakrishna Mission Institute of Art and Culture was the chief guest on the occasion
After Reciting the Verses of the Holy Quran, the guests were welcomed with small introduction of Jamaat Ahmadiyya.
After that Representatives of Christianity Hinduism, Sikhism, Jainism Buddhism, Zoroastrian, Shia community in Islam, Zoroastrianism represented the viewpoints of their respective Religions regarding the establishment of Peace which was followed by a speech of Mr. Utpal Chatterjee and Mr. Shehanshah Mirza who enlightened us as to why is peace important now than ever before, Maulana Mujahid Shastri sb and Maulana Jamaal Shariyat sb spoke regarding the beautiful teachings of Islam and manner in which peace and harmony could prevail in the entire world.
Other than the representatives of various religions, the Peace Symposium was attended by a number of dignitaries, Intellectuals and Government Officials. All of them appreciated the efforts of Ahmadiyya Muslim Community and the Worldwide Head of the Community for establishing Peace in the World. Particularly they appreciated the Topic which was selected for the Peace Symposium this year and said that it is Need of the hour.
The event has just one purpose which is for us to come and sit together in a friendly environment to talk about one goal and sheer objective and this fundamental objective is to promote love, brotherhood and peace,
The motto of our community being LOVE FOR ALL HATRED NONE can surely drive us to achieve humanity all over the world

I commend the effort of peaceful Ahmadiyya community of Kolkata for holding such an event where representative of Christianity Hinduism, Sikhism, Jainism Buddhism, Zoroastrian, Shia community in Islam, presented their peaceful teachings. After such events each person should pledge to work for peace, promote peace and media should highlight such efforts.
