Madam Zainab Abdul-Salaam, Headmistress of Fomena T.I. Ahmadiyya Senior High School (SHS), has asked parents to take responsibility, and do more to protect children through good moral training.

This, she said, required helping the young ones to become God-fearing, and setting good examples in self-discipline, integrity, decency and noble conduct.

She said it was important for all to accept to work together to rein in the growing moral decay, to assure the nation of a better future.

Madam Zainab was speaking at the closing session of the Fourth Annual Ashanti Region “Nasirat” Conference of the Ahmadiyya Muslims Mission in Kumasi.

It brought together about 400 Ahmadi girls, aged between six and 15 years, and provided the opportunity for them to socialize, learn and have fun.

The programme sought to teach the young girls all they needed to know about the Ahmadiyya Khilafat, to aid them to grow into responsible adults.

“Discipline: The Tool for Spiritual and Moral Development, ” was the theme for the three-day event.

Madam Zainab urged mothers not to take things for granted, but take the trouble to spend quality time with their kids.

Her colleague headmistress of the Asokore T.I Ahmadiyya SHS, Hajia Ayesha Nyatakyiwaa Boakye-Edusei, advised the children to be obedient, respectful, and work hard on their books.

She told them to avoid cutting corners, adding that, there were no short cuts to success.

They also have to be smart and resist bad peer influence that could ruin their lives.

Mrs Hawa Acheampong, the Ashanti Regional Lajna President (Women’s Wing), said they were determined to sustain the effort at assisting the little girls to become useful to themselves, their families, religious faith, and society at large.
