RABAT- A lot of people follow news about celebrities converting to Islam, especially in the Arab world. But mostly, we find out that they were rumors. In such cases, deceptive news negatively affects the image of Islam, since Islamophobes exploit the opportunity to vilify Muslims.
Most news sites and Islamic pages publish these false news stories on the social networking sites, without verifying their authenticity. As a result, hoaxes spread like wildfire. Unfortunately, very few readers check the authenticity of news and demand of the editors to prove the veracity of their information. In turn, the majority acclaim these news stories as true.
Rowan Atkinson, the British actor known for his silent acting through the character of “Mr. Bean,” converted to Islam, according to several news clippings that have sprung up in many Arab sites. The latter confirmed his conversion to Islam, and showed how he converted after watching an offensive American movie of the Prophet Mohamed.
The news of the comedian’s conversion to Islam, was reported on some news sites, with a video that does not show in any form, that “Mr. Bean” became a Muslim, but show only the actor lifting the finger of his right hand like Muslim people do. This evidence is not reliable in confirming the truth of the story, not to mention also the absence of any reference to the news of his conversion to Islam in international media, or even his personal website.

Islam will grow despite of strong opposition to Muslims in the west. Islam is not any new religion, Islam means to submit your will to one and true Lord, who is the Lord of the Thrones. Islam is a religion of peace love and JUSTICE. Muslims don’t and should not prove their innocence who believe that Islam is a violent religion. ISLAM today and after 9/11 has been the fastest growing religion in the WORLD. To be honest, nobody like peaceful religion… it seems that its impossible to gain billions of followers if a prophet was evil.. and it has decline the number of Christianity in the world.. Judaism as well.. the only war today was due to people that are greedy for power.. but in majority of Muslims view, politics is only for man who wants to challenge his life. Most of us don’t like politics because later you would be put in trial in front of God. Ordinary Muslims prefer to be away from it..

Everyone has a right to practice their religion regardless of who funds the education. As a Muslim I am in agreement that the lady’s dressing fails to meet the Islamic requirement. It is within her right to leave or follow the rules and continue teaching but to make this a media debacle is pointless. By the way if you are a non Muslim please do not comment on things you don’t know cause your argument will not carry any weight. I don’t understand what’s so hard to understand about the dress code for a Muslim woman. All they want to do is prevent perverted men staring them up and down. western woman sometimes were minimal clothing so they can grab the attention of men wherever they go, Muslim woman are just doing the opposite because they don’t feel the need to be prostituted. when will this propaganda stop!?

I’m agree that Islam is a not a violent religion and full of peace. Besides the non Muslim West don’t know the truth about Islam background. They should somehow find out & read more about Islam history and shouldn’t simply humiliating Islam without any proof. Verily, the prophet Muhammad ( peace be upon him) told us Muslim to spread peace to other people and not doing violence and verily Islam is a wonderful religion.

When a non Muslim converts to Islam all the Muslims in the world are over joyed but it is totally different when it happens other way round. I wonder what your thoughts are about an ahmadi muslim female marrying some one from a different sect. Ahmadi community ostracize not only one who is marrying but her entire family.
zevin: I am not sure why you are asking me this question personally. Anyway, here my thoughts: I am personally not aware of ‘entire families being ostracized’ when a daughter marries outside of the community. Yes, no Ahmadi parents are happy if their daughters marry outside of the community, but for the sake of family unity they usually ‘get used to the idea’, after all they continue to love their daughters and their grand children. I do know of some families like that and the families I know are not ‘ostracized’, but continue their good connections to the community. In some cases I have seen that some members of the Community may not know exactly how to relate to such families and therefore relationships may become a bit tenser for some time. After a while ‘normalization’ returns.

This happens in all religions not only Islam.. no religion allows you or accept that, A christian friend of mine once converted to Islam, she was only 16, her mother threw her out in the street. she told her once you come back I’ll kill you. so read about Islam and other religons then come back and judge.. The secret weapon of the Christians is the HOLY SPIRIT that lives in them. It is their source of peace, hope, and love, which is what Jesus Christ preached about. Nothing even compares or comes close to it. Christians live by the rule ‘Do unto others as you have them do unto you’ and to ‘love one another as I have loved you’, if only everyone lived by these 2 simple rules what a peaceful world it would be. Many men were crucified at the time Jesus was crucified so what made him so special? He did nothing wrong to deserve it. He wanted to show us what the Ultimate sacrifice is and of how much he loved us that with his blood he washed away all our sins at the foot of the cross so that when our spirits are to enter heaven they have been cleansed by his blood. If Jesus didn’t resurrect from death Christianity wouldn’t exist. His RESURRECTION from death is our FREEDOM. His resurrection was WITNESSED. In today’s society many people have to see in their own eyes to believe, they can’t believe that God who created everyone and everything is capable of defeating DEATH. Jews and Muslims are still waiting for the Messiah to come, Jesus Christ the son of God isn’t good enough. What are you expecting? As Jesus was a prophet it was quite correct for him to say that ‘no man comes to the father but by me’. That was valid at the time for the people whom he addressed. The time has passed and while Jesus (as) addressed only the Jews the Prophet Mohammad (peace be on him) addressed the whole world.

Joanna, there is no penalty in Quran for leaving Islam. That is a grave mistake of the present day Muslim clergy. (Do not be misguided by them).
Please note that holy Spirit is an angel named Gabriel. Gabriel was with Jesus and Moses and Abraham and Muhammad (peace be on all of them).
you try to read Bible properly, you will come to know that Holy Spirit is that angel. No doubt. Jesus a.s. was aided (supported) by the holy Spirit. That is written in the Quran.
The mission of all prophets was Islam, from the very beginning. Islam did not start with Muhammad.
You will be rewarded if you stick to Jesus a.s. and do good deeds, that means no abuse etc. You will benefit. We want you to be a good Christian. Yo should try to study the life of Muhammad too becauuse his mission was the same as that of Moses and Jesus.
About some virgins in next life, it is all symbolic, metaphorical. It is definitely not physical, in next life. No one has seen or felt or even imagined the bounties of the paradise (of next life). The bounties had to be described in some ways. So they had been done in the form of milk and honey and pure life partners etc.
Remember, according to Quran, if you are a good Christian, you will have no fear and you will not be sorry. But to attain the true high level happiness and success of next life, we have to know all about the prophet Muhammad.
His mission, like that of Jesus a.s., was not political. It was all spiritual. Like that of Jesus a.s who said, “My kingdom is not of this world….”

We muslims are more ChristAdam and Eve should be childs of God. than Christians themselves. Why god need son. According to Christian jesus is called son of God bcause he is born from just mother with no male father then adam and Eve should be called childs of God. Why Christians dont call Adam and Eve as son and daughter of God. Even john the baptist ( son of prophet zachariah and elizabeth) should be another son of God as God has granted them child at the age of infertility. If it is possible for almighty God to create adam and eve without any couple and john at the old age of infertility then why God cannot create jesus(pbuh) without male father.
Is there any panishment for a person leaving islam?
This is indeed a great question that needs a response because the subject of apostasy is mentioned time and again in the media. The short answer to this question is an emphatic “no”. Let me explain further.
Apostasy, or denouncing one’s religion, is unfortunately taken as a punishable offense by many Islamic scholars, even though those who propound this view are unable to quote a single Quranic verse or Hadith to support it. The fact is that while recanting Islam is a sin, there is absolutely no worldly punishment prescribed by Islam for it. Islam places great stress on freedom of conscience, including the freedom to choose one’s religion, as one of the fundamental rights of all human beings. The Quran clearly states,“There should be no compulsion in religion”(2:257); and also“It is the truth from your Lord; wherefore let him who will believe and let him who will disbelieve”(18:30). These verses prove that man is free to choose the religion that makes him happy, and that rejecting Islam is not a crime.
Unfortunately, the punishment of apostasy has now become death, even though this menacing concept does not claim a single Quranic verse as evidence. In fact, although the subject of apostasy has been brought up several times in the Quran, no mention has ever been made of its punishment. In verse 3 chapter 145 Godstates “He who turns back on his heels shall not harm Allah a whit”– a clear indication that apostasy has no need for punishment. Similarly, Chapter 2 verse 109 states:“Whoever takes disbelief in exchange for belief has undoubtedly gone astray from the right path”– again no mention of a punishment. Nor is there evidence of such punishments in the life and practice of the Prophet Muhammad, the one to whom the Quran was revealed and who portrayed a perfect example of Islamic teachings. The Prophet never ordered anyone to be killed for apostasy; the few capital punishments that occurred during his time were a result of treason and colluding with the enemy in matters of the state.
The only punishment described in the Quran for denouncing Islam is that which rests with God Almighty: “Those who believe, then disbelieve, then again believe, then disbelieve and then increase in disbelief, Allah will never forgive them nor will He guide them to the right way. (4:138)”. Nothing else is needed.

Ok, then how is the whole world supposed to fast from sunrise to sunset for Ramadan? In northern regions the sun is in the sky for 20 hours. When you go to the Arctic/Antarctic circles, its is 24 hours of sun. Then the day length increases till it becomes 6 months at the poles. Hw do you expect Eskimos to fast for long periods without starving? If the sun rises and goes to the top and sets at such a slow speed, their five prayers will also be that slow. Is it fair that they are forced out of doing the five pillars properly?
The people in North Arctic circle can devise their own time table for prayers and fasting. Actual order was for fasting in the month of Ramadhan and the time was not mentioned in those verses.
Later verses were revealed to advise the timing of the fast to the believers. It was suitable advice timing as per sunrise and sunset for the people in the area (in Arabia). There could be no other sensible timing for them.
The prophet Muhammad s.a.w.s. came as a messenger for the entire mankind. The mankind can obey the orders according to their own conditions and seasons.
In the verses about fasting in Ramadhan, it is clearly indicated that Allah wants to make things easy for the believers and does not want any hardship for them. So there is no harsh order. Allah just wants that people complete and spend the month of Ramadhan in fasting and should glorify Allah for the guidance that they received. See below:

The month of Ramadan is that in which the Qur’an was revealed as a guidance for mankind with clear proofs of guidance and discrimination. Therefore, whosoever of you is present at home in this month, let him fast therein. But whoso is sick or is on a journey, shall fast the same number of other days. Allah desires to make things easy for you and He desires not hardship for you, and that you may complete the number, and that you may exalt Allah for His having guided you and that you may be grateful. [Verse 2:186]
When Allah has looked after the believers during travel and sickness why He would not look after and allow reasonable comfort for the people in North and south pole?
It should be remembered that there is no day of six months on the North pole. Day length changes gradually from one hour to 23 hours approximately over a period of six months from 21st December to 21st June. Then night changes from one hour to 23 hours gradually… Day and night have equal duration of 12 hours on 21st March and 23rd Sept.
Please note that In the Quran is guidance and Discrimination ( Al-Furqan). This Furqan gives us the permission to discriminate between right and wrong, between possible and impossible.
“The mankind can obey the orders according to their own conditions and seasons.” So, can somebody fast for half hour per day? Why then, do governments enforce fasting in public from sunrise to sunset?

Quran recognizes the good work of every man and woman of any faith as long as they are peaceful, doing god deeds. They will have their reward with their Lord and they will have no fear nor will they be sorry (These are the exact words of the Quran.).

In his last sermon, the pro. Muhammad said, “A white man has no superiority over a black man and black man has no superiority over a white man.
